7. I think that the definition of guidance is to lead or give direction. I think that it is important to not use physical force when guiding a child. They need to be shown a way of doing things. If a child is being guided with physical force then they will believe it’s okay to do it with others too. In my opinion, the goal of guidance is to show a child what is wrong and what’s right. If they are doing something wrong then you need to show them a better way to handle it. They need to be lead to what the right thing to do is. I have learned that guidance is to lead or give direction. If a child is doing something wrong then they need to be told that what they are doing is wrong and there is a better way of handling things. It is very important to not use force when guiding children and to tell them what is good and what’s not. My Guidance Philosophy
8. I thought that the rules were not surprising at all. I thought the rules were great and I agreed with all of them. Some weren’t really necessary to me. I thought some were basic that everyone knew already and didn’t have to be made a rule. Some rules I thought should have been added were more about the safety of the children which I will go more in to detail. Some rules that they had were basic to me and I didn’t think they had to be a rule because it was common sense. I thought that the rule about children sharing mats was not needed. I would have known that they should not share mats and I’m sure many people would know this so it didn’t have to become a rule. I thought they should have gone more into detail about a child’s safety. This is a serious issue and they didn’t go much into detail about it. This is one that I think should be a strict rule. Keep children in sight at all times and do not focus on only one child at a time just in case something goes wrong with another child. As you can see I think that most of the rules were great and I agreed with them. I didn’t think any were too strict. None of them really surprised me. I would have added more detail to the ones about a child’s safety. Some of the rules didn’t need to be made a rule because they were basic common sense. My Opinion On Licensing Rules
9. The Jordan High Preschool room has a variety of Developmentally Appropriate Accommodations for the four year olds at our preschool. These accommodations have child sized items such as cubbies, tables, chairs, sinks, and toilets. We have many variety’s and open ended supplies. We also have tables that help teachers feel they can direct the students. In our dramatic play area we have supplies that are child sized. The children have a low leveled kitchen area with a stove and grocery items that they can play with. We also have a lot of variety like dress-up, blocks, kitchen, and puppets. Everything we have in out dramatic play area is very open ended. Children can develop and grow through our activities and appropriate practice environment that accommodates their physical and cognitive development. These things will help them in their futures. It will also help them learn more. Classroom Arrangement

11. During the six months that I have taught preschool to 4 and 5 year olds I have learned many things and I have had an amazing experience. I have learned a lot more about children and lesson plans. Working with the children has made me want to be a preschool teacher more then I wanted to before. The children I work with are great and put a smile on my face every time I see them. I wasn’t good at planning lesson plans that would help the children learn and have fun at first but now I can plan a lesson fast. My Experience
12. This is me teaching them about animals and what letter it begins with. This is Sierra and I during show and tell.
14. Christine Ivie 4-5 Music and Movement Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar Sequence, eating unhealthy food is bad for you, caterpillar’s turn into butterflies. To eat healthy or live a unhealthy life.
15. Preschool Room Book and finger play. Read Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar and let them act it out. I wouldn’t change the lesson plan. Multiple ages and special needs students could also do this activity.
16. Christine Ivie 4-5 Science Sink or float? See what items can sink and which can float and why. Know that it mostly depends on the weight and if its hollow or not.
17. In the preschool room. Child-sized chair, tables, and tub. Feather, sponge, bottle, magnet, money, foam, water. Let them guess what would sink or float and test it out. Get items that would be harder to guess if they will sink or float.
18. Christine Ivie 4-5 Art The letter “D” and shaving cream They will learn how to write the letter “D” and make it’s sound. Know what a “D” looks like and what it sounds like so they know which words have a “D” in them.
19. Preschool classroom. Child-sized table and chairs. Paint, sponges and paper. Give them paper, paint, and a “D” Sponge. Make the sound of “D” It wouldn’t change.
