Women are more likely than men to report that they dread
negotiations- men 8X more likely to negotiate a starting salary
If they do negotiate, they ask for 30% less on average 
Women tend to estimate that less is available for them
Women are less likely to ask for opportunities directly, more likely
to wait to be rewarded
Women, even CEO's, think more things are out of their personal
control than men 
Why?

Rely on the facts if you feel uncomfortable
Promote others widely and enthusiastically
Recognize: there is enough to go around and
there is no amount of space to take up that will
please everyone
