3. Control Seminar Purpose
• To help officers assess and control suspects
• Officers will learn a series of movements that leads a suspect into
prime cuffing positions
• Easy to understand instruction that can be retaught to units
• Presentation will be shared with all officers that attend
4. Control Seminar Goals
• Close distance and establish dominant grips from standing positions.
• After suspect is taken to the ground focus will then be placed on
understanding what position they are in and what goals should be in order to
move them into a prime cuffing position.
• Once the suspect is in a prime cuffing position we will use multiple methods to
isolate limbs behind back and reinforce those positions with your own
bodyweight.
