Financial Analyst
o Perform common Analyst functions including preparing and distributing monthly financial
summaries, account reconciliations and monthly actualvs. budgeted spending reports for the
entire Cardiovascular Service Line of Spectrum Health Medical Group.
o Prepare and distribute weekly actual vs. budgeted revenue reports per physician.
o Meet with Practice Managers regularly to review financial information and identify areas of
productivity improvement and expense savings.
o Work with Practice Managers,Directors of Operations, Finance Manager and Director of Finance
to prepare and report annual budgets and 5 year plans.
o Produce ad hoc reports as requested.
West Michigan Heart, nowpart of Spectrum Health Medical Group May 2005 – December 2014
Senior Accountant
o Perform common Accounting functions which include generalledger transactions, account
reconciliations, monthly financial reports including Income Statement, Income Statement
Account Analysis, Balance Sheet, Balance Sheet Account Analysis, monthly actualvs. budgeted

local governments, and collecting data during the budget process.
o Through process improvement I was able to streamline our month end close from 10 working
days to 4 working days.
o A member of a 3 person team assigned to choose and implement a new accounting system
including developing a new Chart of Accounts.
o The key person on a project to bring our accounting method from cash to accrualbasis. This
project also included developing and implementing a budget process which had never been done
at West Michigan Heart.
