My drama series would follow two main characters, Daniel and Hugo Spencer, and four wealthy families in the small town of Farley that appear respectable but hide secrets. Daniel runs a secret operation to discover the families' crimes and steal their money for justice. The drama would appeal to teens with its mystery and intrigue, while maintaining mass market interest. It would air on BBC1 in the crime/thriller genre slot after 9pm, using techniques like flashbacks, plot twists and interweaving stories to engage viewers.
2. Successful businessman Daniel and his son
Hugo have it all, but when they move to a pretty
town in Southern England, and befriend four
affluent families, they notice that they are not all
what they seem. With an overwhelming urge to
provide justice and satisfy their own need to fulfil
a personal gratification they embark on leading a
double life in a race to discover the families’
deepest darkest secrets, steal their money and
take their identities by any means necessary in
order to even the score and save their sanity
before they themselves become discovered and
their past catches up with them.
3. Daniel Hugo
• Daniel, a successful, white, strong, smart businessman in his
early forties. Daniel is a relatable, loveable man with glimpses
of a calculating and dangerous side. By day he is a
businessman, and in his spare time he is a secret hacker,
detective and surveillance expert, fulfilling his desire to hunt
down rich criminals to seek justice.
• He has an equally strong minded eighteen year old son, Hugo.
They have money, style, charisma, confidence, are good
looking and have an impeccable taste in designer clothes. All
the females like them and all the males want to be like them.
Hugo has been happy to move from place to place with his
father, that is until he met seventeen year old Emily Griffiths.
4. Dean Charles FleurAshley
• Secret drug lord dad, Dean is in his late thirties. He is weak and a
workaholic. Everyone thinks he made his money through good
business investments and is now enjoying life, owning multiple bars
and nightclubs.
• Alcoholic, weak, mid thirties mum, Ashley. She resents Dean, hates
life and craves attention. She was working in a bar when they met.
He instantly fell in love with her and started a relationship. She
became pregnant with Charles a few weeks later. They got married
shortly afterwards.
• Charles a lonely, bored, strong, eighteen year old son that drinks,
gambles and is promiscuous.
5. Henry Madison Beatrice
• Father, Henry is a powerful strong character in his early fifties. He is a
businessman that owns most of the town and on a second marriage to
a weak trophy wife.
• Madison, in her mid-twenties. She busies herself with luncheons,
shopping and sleeps around for attention.
• Beatrice is Henry’s seventeen year old daughter from his first marriage.
She is a weak character but becomes stronger throughout the
storylines. She is a daddy’s girl, who hates her step-mum. Both step-
mum and daughter are in a relationship with Charles Parker.
6. Oliver Rebecca Zacharias
• Dad, Oliver is in his late forties, a lawyer and secret
detective.
• Mum, Rebecca met Oliver in her restaurant. She inherited
money from a neighbour to open her restaurant. She is now
in her late thirties and owns a prestigious restaurant in
Farley, which acts as a meeting point throughout the series.
• Zacharias, their seventeen year old son, who dreams about
seeing the world and is saving money on his own to do so.
He is weak and easily led, but his character grows stronger
throughout the storyline. He is a genuinely nice guy with a
7. John Lauren Emily
• Dad, John is in his early fifties and a weak character. He is a Chief
Superintendent in the police force.
• His wife Lauren, is in her early forties and has always lived in
Farley. She works part-time in the Farley library and has Henry
Keswick as her boss, whom she confides in.
• Their daughter, Emily is a strong seventeen year old, who is highly
intelligent, very academic, always reading and is a secret detective.
She has a romantic relationship with Hugo Spencer.

13. Why Now?
Up-to-date and connects to current lives as the
story unlocks familiar themes that we can relate to.
My concept is The Joneses mixed with Arrow
meets Pretty Little Liars.
Due to the successful programs of Pretty Little
Liars and Arrow, that receive high ratings of over 4
million viewers. Farley could build on these
successes and appeal to the same viewers from
these programs, but could also gain new viewers
because the story has a mixed cast, which would
attract many more viewers.
14. Genre
My drama series would be best
suited in the thriller, mystery and
crime drama genre because it
contains an element of detective,
crime and thriller combined.
15. Target Audience
Younger audience of thirteen to
twenty year olds can relate to
the teenagers of the families;
Mass market would like the
intrigue, suspense, interweaving
stories and the lives behind the
characters.
16. Why Will The Audience Love
It?
Curious about exclusive and expensive worlds
others live in.
Perfect for escapism.
Thrilling storyline, fast-paced action,
mesmerising plot twists and subplots of all the
characters and how they all connect to each
other, plus Daniel and Hugo’s never-ending
passion to succeed.
17. Channel/Slot
BBC1
60 minutes over 20 episodes in each
series;
On or after 9:00 p.m. as the content
contains violence, murder, scenes of a
sexual nature as well as extortion.
18. My drama has four families that support the two
strong main characters, Daniel and Hugo
Spencer. All appear to be wealthy, respectable
families that give the impression that they lead
happy, honest and perfect lives.
