2. My idea:
• A detective story that takes place in Victorian England. Our protagonist is a no-
nonsense woman who trusts her head over her heart 99.9% of the time as it had never
failed her before.
• The story is set in London in the year 1891. Cassandra Silva is a up and coming
detective who loves her work. She keeps herself busy because to her, sitting around
and doing nothing is essentially the same as being dead. To be alive is to be working.
She is stubborn, presents herself as heartless and when it comes to her work, she
wont allow anything to get itself in her way.
• She has been entrusted with a new case, a murder. What seems like an open-close
case on the surface turns out to be the complete opposite. Not everything is as it
seems.
3. How I came up with my idea and what makes
it different:
• I wanted to choose an idea that did have some similarities to other shows as I
know if I do this then the general concept would be popular. Familiarity in a
show creates a sense of comfort in the viewer which is what I would aim for.
• I figured a local, popular setting would be a good idea to use. London is the
one place in England that almost everyone would know which would help
avoid confusion to viewers who aren't that familiar with England. For
characters, I decided to make all the main characters young adults to add a
sense of relatability between the viewers and the characters.
• My idea is different from others on the market due to the way I am portraying
the 'antagonist.' The woman portrayed as the antagonist gives the detective
many hints towards the idea that she is not the villain all along and the villain
all along ends up being the victim of the case.
4. Target Audience:
• The target audience for this television show would be young adults between
the ages of 16 and 24 due to the content in the show possibly not being
suitable for those younger than this.
• As well as this, the characters that I plan on featuring in the show would be
within the age range of those within my target audience meaning that the
audience would possibly be able to relate to the characters, giving the
audience a good professional relationship between the viewers and the
creators.
6. Miss Cassandra Silva (She/Her)
• 20 Years old
• White British Woman
• Bisexual
• Cassandra is the main character of the television show. She works as a
detective which she decided to do against the obligations of her parents
however she had always had a love for investigation, having a distinct eye for
detail. She is a massive neat freak because of this too.
• She is stubborn and relentless when working on a case, to the point where
she often comes to the point where her and those, she works with find
themselves in arguments. She is work orientated and figures she has no time
for human relationships. She is simply too busy.

due to the fact they are focused on her older brother.
• She has received many offers for her hand however she turned
them all down
• Deeply in love with Cassandra
8. Elliott Silva (He/Him)

• 29 Years Old
• White British Man
• Heterosexual
• Older brother of Cassandra
• He is a policeman in London and despite this he does not approve of
Cassandra working as a detective due to the fact he is protective over
her.
• He is a family man, and he would do anything for them, especially his
sister.
• He was brought into an arranged marriage by his family,
marrying Lady Alexandria Byrd. Once they met though, they ended up
falling in love, having a lot in common. He knows about her work as a
spy and keeps it secret for her both out of love and concern for her
safety.
9. Lady Alexandria Byrd (She/Her)

• In day-to-day life, Alexandria is known to be a jolly, polite girl who is
always a good partner in a conversation. She is kind and people
doubt that she could harm a fly, little do they know they are wrong.
• She is married to Elliot Silva and despite her complaints at first, she
grew to adore her husband, desiring a family with him at this point.
• Because of how much people doubt her, the fact she works a double
life as a spy completely goes over people's heads.
• She works under the alias 'Lex.'
• She started when she was 15 when she wanted money despite being
from a rich family however, she continued because she loved the
thrill.
10. WIlliam Byrd (He/Him)

• William is the 'victim' in the case Cassandra was
given.
• He was known to be money obsessed
• A cruel man who showed no respect for anyone other
than himself
• He was blindly infatuated with 'Damsel' and he ended
up killing her out of blind rage once being rejected in
person.
• He killed once before as a teenager however his
parents covered it up.
11. Lady Aubrey Wright (She/They)

• 25 Years Old
• British/Scottish Woman
• Murderer
• Homosexual
• Knew she was gay from a young age however she
refused to admit it until she met Sophia, known as
'damsel.'
• Studious girl who adored to learn and read
• Has unresolved trauma from her childhood resulting in
anger issues (reason she murdered William.)
13. Where we begin:
• The opening scene would be set in Cassandra office. A small room which is especially
neat despite being an office however, this is because Cassandra states that if her
office is messy, she simply cannot think straight.
• Two older people sit in the office, looking between Cassandra and Rosalind,
explaining to the pair that they decided to seek out detective Silva with a case in mind.
They need Silva to seek out a woman for them under the name of "Lady Aubrey
Wright." Why? Because she is their son's murderer who has gone missing.
• The case intrigues Silva as she catches on that the older couple are not being
completely honest from their body language. Due to the intrigue of the unsolved
mystery, Cassandra accepts, and the show begins.
14. Acts:
• Act 1: Cassanda begins looking for clues revolving around the murder of William, including going through his office
and correspondences where she finds letters between William and a woman under the pen name of "Damsel" where
William is clearly trying to pursue her however, he is constantly told that she does not share his feelings. His letters
grow more and more desperate to the point where they're borderline aggressive. After finding this, Cass sets out to find
out who Damsel is which introduces Aubrey as a character and another woman whose name would be unknown until
the final episode.
• Act 2: Cassandra's clues keep leading to dead ends, instead just receiving a letter from Wright each time. Each letter
details more things about why she had killed William, stating everything is not as it seems. The frustration of the case is
getting to Cassandra and in this, her partner is comforting Cass, introducing the romance between the two of them.
(Romance is good to introduce in a show as it leads to the characters getting a bigger fanbase due to shipping which,
as it gets shared around, increases the popularity of the show.)
• Act 3: Cass is getting closer and closer to finding Aubrey, however the more and more she finds out about Damsel, and
the relationship her and Aubrey shared, the more her doubts grow about whether or not she wishes to finish this case
as it means having to get Aubrey arrested. She begins working with a spy under the nickname "Lex" who seems to
know a suspicious amount about William, Aubrey and Damsel only to find out the spy is none other than William's sister
who wishes to reveal her brother's actions to the world.
15. Where we end:
• The story ends with the no-nonsense detective going against her own morals
and letting Madame Wright go, helping her escape from London. This is one of
Cassandra's first acts where she acts this way however the thought process
behind this choice was if she had lost Rosalind the way Aubrey lost her partner,
she would have done the exact same.
• The final scene would feature William's parents writing a letter to a well-known
detective in London (Known widely for being very corrupt), describing how their
son was murdered and the detective they had hired had ended up letting the
murderer go so they wanted them to find Wright and get her arrested or worse,
killed for her crimes.
16. What else is out there similar to this?

emotional partner,
• Based on a book

• Estimated 76 million households
watched the film within its first four
weeks.
• Strong independent main lead.
• It got a 91% on Rotton Tomatoes
• PG 13
• Based on a book
17. Episode Details:
• The show would include 12 Episodes per season to ensure there is
enough time to tell the story without having to rush the development.
• Episodes would be roughly 45 minutes each as this fills up an hour time
slot with 15 minutes for advert breaks.

18. What Channel would it feature on, and when?
• The show would air at around 8-9pm as the target audience for this show would definitely be
awake at this time. (on average Young Adults go to sleep between 10-11PM)
• It would air around this time and not earlier as it means that those who are too young to be
watching this show would not be awake to watch the show, avoiding children seeing things not
meant for their eyes.
• The channel that I think this show would do well on would be BBC Three as this channel is
aimed at those within my target audience. The channel also has aired shows within the same
genre as mine in the past (comedy and drama)
