astronomical observatory
built by Maharaja Jai Singh

being the largest Hindu
temple in the world. The
temple was built to pay
homage to Lord
Swaminarayan and sits
beautifully on the banks of river Yamuna. The building of the temple is carved
from white marble and sandstone. Around eight thousand labourers were
employed to construct this marvelous monument. The temple has eight
mandaps, and an idol of Lord Swaminarayan is placed inside the central dome.
The numerous pillars and images of deities carved on the walls lend a mystical
aura to the temple surroundings.
India Gate

This eminent
monument is one of
the most famous
historical buildings
that stand as an
example of the
erstwhile kingdoms
that ruled the
country. The gate was built to honor Indian soldiers who lost their lives during
World War I. The gate stands amid lush green lawns which serve as an ideal
spot for family picnics. To add to the charm of the surroundings, a pond lies in
the vicinity of the gate where you can take boat rides and enjoy the beautiful

Qutub Minar

the tallest minaret in
the world. The Minar

oldest mosque in
India. The monument
is made from red and
cream sandstone and has verses of Quran inscribed on it. The circular staircase

you grab the views of the city once you reach the top. The minaret has six
storeys with balconies decorated with honeycomb detailing.
