Hommel-Etamic, the Industrial Metrology Division of the
Jenoptik Group, is a leading manufacturer and system
provider of high-precision, tactile and non-tactile produc-tion
metrology.
The range of products provided include total solutions
for a wide range of measurement tasks such as testing
surfaces, form, and determining dimensional tolerances –
throughout all phases of the production process, for final
inspection or in a metrology lab. Our product portfolio
is rounded off by a wide range of services in consulting,

4. In-process measurement.
Production integrated.
Our high-precision, digital measuring heads are used
in grinding machines around the world for in-process
measurement of production parts. Digital technology gu-arantees
precise dimensional measurements even under
difficult operating conditions - such as extreme tempera-ture
variations or grinding wheel wear.

5. Pre- and post-process measurement.
Quality standards.
Our system portfolio of pneumatic and tactile measuring
systems, for injector parts, range from simple manual
measuring devices, up to and including fully automatic,
integrated, metrology systems. Thanks to their task spe-cific
design, our measuring systems are always optimized
for your workpiece. Measurement of diameters ≤1 mm
is possible for pre- and post-process manufacturing,
including part classification in 2 μm class sizes and match
measurement of inner and outer diameter.

Optical, non-tactile measurement.
At the speed of light.
Our optical measuring systems may be used throughout
all phases of the production process. Specific machine
configurations with pneumatic clamping devices allow
for measurement of very small parts with low measure-ment
volume and very high optical resolution. Thanks to
fast measuring cycles and easy handling, the systems are
extremely flexible for use in production.

7. Roughness and contour measurement.
Highly accurate.
You have the choice. Our product portfolio ranges from
compact, manual roughness measuring stations to fully
automated measuring systems for combined roughness
and contour features. Special application-specific clam-ping
devices for injection parts guarantee precise results.

8. Form measurement.
Economic and precise.
Specific form measuring systems with air bearing rotary
table, guarantee highest possible precision – even for
extremely small parts. For automated measurements of
injection parts we offer specially modified chucks as well
as specific tracing arms, all designed to access each and
every measuring point – even on complex parts. The
roundscan system offers combined form and roughness
measurement without a changeover due to utilizing one
special tracing arm.

9. Optical surface inspection.
Highly efficient.
Our automated surface inspection systems utilize special
360° optical sensors that are used for 100 % control.
These sensors can be integrated directly into the produc-tion
line, where thanks to the high scanning rate of the
ring sensor, consistently high quality measurement results
are delivered in the shortest possible cycle times - all in
one complete package.
