• Analysed the existing network’s problems and limitations. Designed, sourced,
installed and configured a replacement network of 12 Windows servers and 850
desktop computers. Used Symantec GhostCast Server 8.2 to replicate the systems.
Completed the task on target and to budget.
• Added and fully configured a further 15 servers over the next three years.
Implemented UPS systems and connected all servers to them.
• Reviewed and standardised all software versions and implemented site-wide
licensing. This covered servers, security software, Windows OS and specialist
software.
• Managed the network infrastructure change project for the replacement of co-ax with
fibre-optic cabling, using bonded gigabit technology for the back bones. This included
2. the installation, configuration and testing of HP Pro Curve switches. The network
achieved 100% uptime in the four years since installation.
