TALLER DE PRÁCTICA DOCENTE
Tutora: Aurelia Velázquez
ALUMNO RESIDENTE: Castro Camila
Período de Práctica: nivel secundario
Institución Educativa: x
Dirección: x
Sala / Grado / Año - sección: 3 año – T.M.
Cantidad de alumnos: 25
Nivel lingüístico del curso: básico
Tipo de Planificación: clase
Unidad Temática: Weekend activities
Clase Nº: 1 y 2
Fecha: Martes y jueves
Hora: 10.00 hs
Duración de la clase: 50 minutos
Fecha de primera entrega: 20/07/2020
 Teaching points: Going to for plans or intentions
 Aims or goals:
During this lesson, learners will be able to…
- Develop communicative skills through a controlled speaking task. There will
also be many opportunities for Ss to use the language.
- Develop writing skills by designing plans for the weekend.
 Language focus:

To talk about plans
in the future or
intentions.
Subject + to be +
GOING TO + main verb
Teaching approach: activities are organized through the PPP (Presentation – Practice –
Production) approach.
Material and resources: a projector, a computer, 12 copies with questions to work in
groups. 12 copies of student A and 13 copies of student B for class 2.
Pedagogical use of ICT in class: in this lesson, I’ll use a projector and my computer. In
private secondary schools in Viedma (such as the one I chose) there are projectors in
the classroom, so every teacher can bring her computer and connect it to them.
Seating arrangement: as teens tend to be shy when they have to perform speaking
tasks, they can work in pairs with someone they like. In this way, Ss will feel more
confident in the development of the activities.
Individual work: I’ll assess students’ participation and their attitude towards each
activity presented in both lessons.
Assessment, what will be assessed and how: to avoid putting teens in the spotlight
when they make a mistake, mistakes can be collected during each activity and they
can be corrected at the end of each task. The whole class will correct the mistakes. I
will also walk around the classroom and listen to what Ss are talking about. I’ll only
interrupt the flow of a speaking activity if I find recurrent mistakes.

read them and we’ll correct the sentences together.
Transition:
T: Good job, you did it very well!! Now, let’s make more plans about our future!
PRODUCTION 10’
Purpose: engage students on talking about future plans.
In thisstage, studentswill have somestripesof paperwithdifferentquestions. They will have

answer.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TOMORROW?
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO AFTER SCHOOL?
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NEXT SUNDAY?
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO IN YOUR SUMMER HOLIDAYS?
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO IN YOUR WINTER HOLIDAYS?
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY?
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO FOR HALLOWEEN?
This is a controlled speaking task in which I’ll monitor students by walking around the
classroom. I’m just going to listen to them. I won’t interrupt the flow of the conversation at
least there would be many difficulties to achieve the goal of the task.
Afterthe closure,I’ll take about2 minutes and I’ll asksome Ssabout theirpartner’splan. For

CLASS 2
ROUTINE 5’
Purpose: to greet students and get them ready to start the lesson.
First of all, I will enter to the classroomand greet my students as usually…
T: Good morning, everybody!
Ss: Good morning, Miss.
T: How are you today?
Ss: Fine, and you?
T: I’m good! Well, let’s call the roll.
Transition:
T: Let’s talk about our previous class!
WARM-UP 5’
Purpose: to revise what students have learnt from the previous class.
I’ll use the same stripes of paper and I used in class 1 and a ball. I’ll throw a ball to one
students and I’ll ask a question. Then, that student has to answer the question and
throw the ball to someone else. He/she will pick up a question and read it to his/her
partner. This next student will have to do the same. The activity finishes when all
students have answered one question.
Transition:
T: Wow, that was great! Now, let’s move into this…
PRESENTATION 10’
Purpose: to learn how to make questions to ask about future plans
In this stage, I’ll guide students to infer the rules to form the GOING TO questions. I’ll
draw two people on the board to make them understand that there is a conversation.
T: Is there any volunteer to come to the board and complete this?
S1: Me!
T: Okay, we know how to ask for future plans. But how do we do to ask for a specific
action? For example, I want to know if you are going to the riverside next Sunday
afternoon or not.
T: Let’s see this. How can I complete this questions and its answer? I’m asking for a
specific activity.
S1: Going to in the middle!
T: Yes! Well done. But the first word is missing. What do we need to complete it?
S2: The verb to be! Are!
T: Excellent! So, can someone tell me how do we form the question?
S3: The verb to be changes its position?
T: Exactly! Now the verb to be is in the first position as we have seen in the present
continuous questions. Well done!!
Transition:
T: Now, let’s practise the questions!
PRACTICE 15’
Purpose: to develop writing and speaking skills.
In the practice stage, Ss will work in pairs and one group of three. They will have to ask
questions in order to complete some famous people schedule.

  • 2. Teaching approach: activities are organized through the PPP (Presentation – Practice – Production) approach. Material and resources: a projector, a computer, 12 copies with questions to work in groups. 12 copies of student A and 13 copies of student B for class 2. Pedagogical use of ICT in class: in this lesson, I’ll use a projector and my computer. In private secondary schools in Viedma (such as the one I chose) there are projectors in the classroom, so every teacher can bring her computer and connect it to them. Seating arrangement: as teens tend to be shy when they have to perform speaking tasks, they can work in pairs with someone they like. In this way, Ss will feel more confident in the development of the activities. Individual work: I’ll assess students’ participation and their attitude towards each activity presented in both lessons. Assessment, what will be assessed and how: to avoid putting teens in the spotlight when they make a mistake, mistakes can be collected during each activity and they can be corrected at the end of each task. The whole class will correct the mistakes. I will also walk around the classroom and listen to what Ss are talking about. I’ll only interrupt the flow of a speaking activity if I find recurrent mistakes. CLASS 1 LESSON DEVELOPMENT ROUTINE 5’ Purpose: to greet students and get them ready to start the lesson. First of all, I will enter the classroom and greet my students as usually… T: Good morning, everybody! Ss: Good morning, Miss. T: How are you today?

  • 9. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO FOR HALLOWEEN? This is a controlled speaking task in which I’ll monitor students by walking around the classroom. I’m just going to listen to them. I won’t interrupt the flow of the conversation at least there would be many difficulties to achieve the goal of the task. He/she will pick up a question and read it to his/her partner. This next student will have to do the same. The activity finishes when all students have answered one question. Transition: T: Wow, that was great! Now, let’s move into this… PRESENTATION 10’ Purpose: to learn how to make questions to ask about future plans In this stage, I’ll guide students to infer the rules to form the GOING TO questions. I’ll draw two people on the board to make them understand that there is a conversation.
  • 11. T: Is there any volunteer to come to the board and complete this? S1: Me! T: Okay, we know how to ask for future plans. But how do we do to ask for a specific action? For example, I want to know if you are going to the riverside next Sunday afternoon or not. T: Let’s see this. How can I complete this questions and its answer? I’m asking for a specific activity. S1: Going to in the middle! T: Yes! Well done. But the first word is missing. What do we need to complete it? S2: The verb to be! Are! T: Excellent! So, can someone tell me how do we form the question? S3: The verb to be changes its position? T: Exactly!
