I have always had a passion for seeingthe world,and this contributed towards my decision to study
geology at a university degree level. The opportunity to study at Colorado School of Mines (CSM), one
of the top engineering universities in theUnited States, was an unforgettable experience that allowed
me to expand myself both academically and personally.With university studies Monday-Friday and
fieldtrips mostweekends time management was essential,as well as adaptation to the differences in
the methods of teaching and assignments.

Idaho Springs, Colorado (The Rockies) Mapping
Mappingin pairs,constructingan individual projecttitleand timeline of data research, producinga
report, cross sections,block diagrams and geological maps of the area. This improved my time
management and independent study skills.
April 2015
Ireland Mapping (2 weeks)
Connemara –top of the class (75%),studyingmetamorphic and structural geology to create a
geological map and an assessed geological notebook. This improved my presentation of written data
County Clare–top of the class (75%),studyingsedimentary geology and creatingsedimentary logs and
notebooks, with group presentation of data at the end. This improved my teamwork and confidence
when presenting in front of others.

Assynt, Scotland Mapping (2 weeks)
Learnt detailed geological mappingskills,produced a report and geological map of the data collected,
learningto work in extreme weather conditions.

Other Relevant Experiences
My leadership skillswereimproved by a Wilderness FirstAid and Leadership Course completed
recently, whereby we were trained to lead a team of colleagues in the event of an accidentor
emergency.
I have had many years’experiences in sports teams and music ensembles which have improved my
