Experience Highlights
December 2014 to Present Watts, Griffis and McOuat Limited | Geological and Mining Consultants |
Toronto, ON – Nunavut project
On-call Consultant reporting directly to President and CEO, Joe Hinzer
Key Accomplishments:
• Given ownership of project with autonomy to resolve all technical and practical
issues.
• Compiled a database of all active claims and leases within Nunavut Territory to
provide overview of Geological setting, mineralization type, personal assessment
of timeline to production, land tenure, project stage, feasibility studies,
resource/reserve calculations, output, lifetime, infrastructure, communities and
community sensitivities, permitting, leases and claims, caribou migration routes
and protected lands, royalties, labour and energy requirements, all financial
information, etc.
Summer 2012, 2011 Queenston Mining Inc. (now Osisko) TSX: OSK
Kirkland Lake, ON – Upper Canada project
Key Accomplishments
Summer 2012:
• Due to success of previous summer’s performance and aptitude, senior leadership
requested I support senior geologist’s work which resulted in logging my own
drill, re-logging senior geologist’s work.
• In analyzing results, I identified “albitization”, which was previously missed.
• Identified unmarked drill holes to facilitate effective and efficient information
flow to high-cost specialist despite challenges attributed to age and state of drill
holes; many of which were over 40 years old and buried
• Successfully completed assignments by performing on-the-spot reckoning and
fact checking against drill logs.
2. Key Accomplishments
Summer 2011:
• Supervised stripping project conducted by a skidder and two pressure-washer
teams, I ensured that the sulphide quartz vein was adequately uncovered.
• With a partner geologist, I mapped uncovered area using survey-points,
compasses and tape-measures.
• Manually transferred all of the information collected to a master draft which is
still in use today.
• Logged drill from specific hole for over a month and drafted the results.
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform by generating a “master draft” of
the entire area which resulted in logging over 40 boxes per day at peak-
production.
Summer Programs Viking Gold Exploration TSX:VGE
2004-2007, 2009 Yellowknife, NWT
Winter Program 2008
Key Accomplishments Over these 6 years I was involved with property 86 km north of YK, NWT and
performed an extensive amount of ground-work including:
• Provided First Responder Skills in event of a medical emergency.
• Assisted in clean- up of 500lb oil drums that leaked in to bog. This required
intensive care and environmentally responsible measures in accordance with
NWT government standards.
• Assisted Geochemist from a pontoon-helicopter, taking lake sediment samples for
geochemical analysis.
• Assisted two drilling programs (one winter, one summer.)
• Performed Channel Sampling with a STIHL saw for assaying.
• Verified coordinates of base-lines and sample sites with GPS/satellite map.
• Cut base-line with both axes and chainsaws.
• Performed humus sampling for assaying.
• Prepared saw core with a table saw; determined which half to be assayed and
which half to be kept as physical record.
In a business role I have:
• Acted as stenographer in meetings regarding Vikings business; required trust that
I would not divulge privileged information.
• Assisted with filing and organizing drill logs, assay results, maps, documents etc.
