Garin
VALUE-BASED
it is defined using costs and prices as well as the number
of attributes
This approach is based on two criteria which is quality and
value
THREE TYPES OF QUALITY
Quality of Design
it is all about characteristics that the product or service
must minimally have to satisfy the requirements of the
customer based on market research
the product or service must be designed in such a way so
as to meet at least minimally the needs of the consumer at
a given cost

profit policy, demand of the product, availability of parts
and materials, and product reliability
THREE TYPES OF QUALITY
Quality of Conformance
 is basically meeting that standards or user-based
characteristics defined in the design phase after the
product is manufactures or while the service is delivered
THREE TYPES OF QUALITY
Quality of Conformance
It refers to the extent in which the firm and its suppliers
are able to manufacture products with expected level of
reliability and uniformity at a specified cost with quality
requirements based on the study made on quality design
THREE TYPES OF QUALITY
Quality of Performance
It is how sound the product functions or service performs
when put to use
It measures the degree to which the product or service
pleases the customer from the angle of quality of design
together with the quality of conformance. Meeting
customer expectation is the focus of quality of
performance

products and services to boost the productivity of the
organization

management and the employees as members of “Quality
Teams” which focus on continuous process enhancement
• This can be measured thru the mission that the business organization had set , that has been achieved (1) (effective)
• is influenced by many factors such as product type, costs, profit policy, demand of the product, availability of parts and
materials, and product reliability (2) (quality of design)
• It refers to the extent in which the firm and its suppliers are able to manufacture products with expected level of reliability and
uniformity at a specified cost with quality requirements based on the study made on quality design (3) ( conformance)
• It measures the degree to which the product or service pleases the customer from the angle of quality of design together with
the quality of conformance. Meeting customer expectation is the focus of quality of performance (4) (performance)
• Is the result or consequence of action in achieving the desired outcome (5) (effective)
• defined in the design phase after the product is manufactures or while the service is delivered (6) (conformance)
