My Mom Is My Greatest Influence College Essay
My Mother Is My Greatest Influence in My Life
I've learned through the eyes of my mother that life isn't easy. My mother has come a long way after losing her mother at a very young age and
growing up with her father and grandmother and five siblings, one being a twin. My mom's dad had to make sacrifices while raising my mom and her
siblings; it wasn't easy growing up without her mother, my mom put herself through college with the help of her dad. My mom has a successful career
and is married and is raising a happy family. Initially I thought of a celebrity as a person with the most influence in my life, but as I thought about it, I
realized my mother has had the most influence in my life, always smiling, laughing and having fun. When my...show more content...
My friends love my mom because she is always laughing and doing whatever she can to help others. A few weeks ago a friend of mine was having
some problems at home and she needed a ride to work. My mom picked my friend up everyday from school, then dropped her off at work and then
went back and took her home. She told my friend that she was there for her and she wanted her to

My Mother And Mother
My mother was my primary caregiver throughout all of my childhood. While my father was in the picture for a majority of my childhood, he was
also a severe alcoholic which greatly impacted my upbringing. My rules, obligations, and expectations were not always set in stone and did often
depend on the time, situation, and/or mood of my parents. I think it is normal for parents to differ slightly in their parenting styles occasionally. As a
young kid I remember my sister and I being very aware that the mood my mother was in greatly contributed to the outcome of a question or event. I
think most, if not all of us can relate to this. Overall however, I would say that my mother had an authoritative parenting style. My mother made is very
clear that she was the parent and in charge, however she was welcoming and understanding enough that I felt comfortable coming to her with
questions or problems. My mom was also very encouraging and supportive. She always pushed me to do my best but never made me feel bad if I
did not reach my goals. I was lucky to have such a great relationship with my mom, not everyone does. As a young teenager I had many friends who
would come to me with questions and concerns because they knew my mom was so open–minded and understanding. My mom was always my parent
first and my friend second. I knew what was expected of me and I was disciplined for bad behavior, however I always knew I could go to her with
anything I needed.
My father, like many addicts was

My Reflection On My Mother Essay
A mother is someone who can take the place of all others but no one can take the place of her. There are many different definitions you could use to
describe your mother. My mother, Pam Krull, fits every one of those. Today I decided to pick the three that I thought was most important to me. I
admire and aspire to be like my mother because of how supportive, how selfless, and how loving she is. My mom has gone through a lot to get where
she is today. I will begin by telling you a little bit about my mom's background. My mom grew up outside of George with her parents, Harris and Bev
Kaster, and her three siblings, Erik, Brad, and Kristy. She attended George High School when they were still Blue Jays. My mom was involved in
a lot of different activities. She was in the play, large group and individual speech, a cheerleader, played the drums in band, was in student council,
secretary of her class, REC club, band, and jazz band. In her free time she hung out with friends and her sister. She had a few jobs growing up also.
She babysat a lot, worked at the library, and the dentist office. My mother also helped teach bible school, catechism, and attended youth group at Hope
Reformed Church. My mother met my dad, Doug Krull when she was a junior in high school. They dated for a while and ended getting married. They
then had three beautiful daughters, Allyssa, Megan, and Rebecca. My mom went to Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, to get her education

Parents are one of the most beautiful things that could happen to anyone. They are always there by your side no matter what; they always want the
best for their children. They can be strict and protective, its because they love their kids and they don't want them to get hurt. My parents are special to
me because with all the hard time that they had to have me and my siblings in their life they still fought for us and didn't give up, even after 17 years
of trying. But for me? The greatest of all is my mom. She is the one that I look up too. She is the greatest of all. Simple, funny, strict, protective, but
yet she is the best.

She prefers that only god knows what's going on, not even her closest sisters know. I learned from her that keeping your sadness and weakness to
yourself, because no one lasts for long not even your childhood buddy. Everyone will find a way to leave you somehow, someday, if not today it
could be tomorrow if not tomorrow in a thousand years. It's best to keep your weakness to yourself and yourself only, because humans would attack
you using your weakness and they could get to you easily. She also always told me no one is your friend except your mom. She says, "Your mom is
your best friend".
Your mom is your best friend, sister, and your whole life. She helps you be successful and always wants what's best for you and your future. Mothers
choose to go through tough times and rocky roads just to make sure that her off sprigs are in a good shape and are in excellent health. Mothers would
kill to see their kids in the best condition. If it means that they should give up on them, they would! If your mother is around be appreciated for what

Narrative Essay About My Mom
Something about my mom just helps me always stay positive. Whether it's the way she lives life to the fullest, the troubles that she has gone
through, or the way she bounces back from those troubles. My mom has always kept her positive act on, and I don't know how she does it. She
will always be the person in the room that is the most bubbly and excited about life. She has gone through hard times but though hope has guided
her through hard experiences with life. My mom lost her dad when she was older but it still had a big impact on her. I think that my grandpas death
was one of the most difficult things my mom has gone through. My grandpa or my moms dad passed away February 6th 2004. My moms dad had a
heart attack when he was in the car. My mom has always said that she thinks he was driving to the hospital. I have always thought that my...show more

he was still with us now. Throughout the stories my mom has told us I know many characteristics of my grandpa. My favorite stories are the ones
that my mom likes the best, which are all of them. My mom has always told my sister and I if we ever want to talk to our grandpa or be with him
he is always there for us and here with us even though he isn't here. She also had bears made for us so we could be with our grandpa and act as
though the bear is him. My sister and I sleep with our bears on our bed every night, this helps us sleep and get a better night's rest. The reason the
bears are so special to us is because they are made from my grandpas robe. This is important to me, because even though my has a hard time with the
situation she still helps other people with the situation. As you can tell my mom can act as though nothing is wrong and help other people. That's why

Mother Essay : My Mother
My Mom Moms are the most special and pure beings in the world. They are that being who gives everything for love, for her home, for her children
and grandchildren. The mother is such a blessed woman that she endures so many things for the sake of her children, while many times we are
ungrateful to them, assuming that our mothers will always be there for us.
When moms still there with you, it is fortunate to have her, because the kind of love she gives is the purest you can ever find. My mom, for example,
is very special to me, since she has taught me how to live and how to value things in life. She has always been present at all times and has not spent a
single day in which she has forgotten to give me her blessing. she is the one who...show more content...
She always encourages me to work hard, stay focus and never give up. She has been a great example of how to be an excellent mother and wife. What I
admire most about her is that when I was a baby she used to work everyday and I am surprised that she always had time for me and her work, I mean
that working and taking care of a baby is very difficult. Everyday she gets up to work, to be sure that I have everything I need. She's a mother and wife
focused on giving her family the best of her. If my family were in need, she would do whatever it takes to get what is needed.
Another reason why my mother is very special is because she always makes space and takes time to go to my volleyball games. She sometimes has
to drive three or four hours and stay in a hotel just to be present in my games. She gets really involved in the game, she cheers a lot, and she is my
number one cheerleader. My mom sometimes takes goodies to treat my teammates. They all respect and love her because how she treats everyone
on the team. She gets excited and has a lot of fun in my games. I'm thankful for what my mom has done for me. Everyday she's looking for different
ways to improve my lifestyle. The sacrifices she has to make to help me move forward is something I will never be able to pay her back. There's
nothing better than share with her my challenges and achievements. I always ask God to bless me allowing me to have

My Mother Is My Mom
Growing up I've always had my mom and my grandmother taking care of me but, at times my mom would always have to work and I hated it. My
mom worked late hours or went in early in the morning. Everyday I always wondered why did she have to leave, why couldn't she just stay home
with us, was it that hard for her to just stay home? My granny did her very best taking care of us and I loved her so much for that. There was still
always this though in my head everyday that i always thought of and that was "would mommy ever take off work and spend more time with us".
The story of my father he was not in my life much until i got older around 6 or 7 year old. Most of the time i really wasn't worried about my father

Her grandmother showed her all the love and care she need that her mother and father should have showed her and she was very happy that she did
have her. Janie's grandmother did anything she could to make sure she was well taken care of and happy. She wanted her to be a successful head in
the books type of girl but all Janie wanted was for a man to love her. If Janie had her father to love her like he should then i think she would not be out
trying to find it. Her grandmother clearly loved her enough and that's all she needed but that was not what Janie wanted.
Me and Janie and everyone else have been through many struggles but it's always that one struggle that hits you the hardest. The situation with my
mother i really didn't handle it to well i was young and i wanted my mommy to be around her more often i missed her very much every hour she
was gone, when she came home I was always happy. My father situation i handled it well simply because, sometimes I really did not care most . I
took this with me through my life because as i got older i started to learn that my mother had no choice but to work because of the thing we wanted
and needed. I will use this memory for my to make sure that (If I have children) they will know that mommy has to work to provide for them and to

Personal Narrative : My Mother And My Mom
After my mother and I have an argument she usually smiles at me and says, it's because we're so much alike that we argue. She reminds me that our
lack of communicating often stirs more trouble than why we were arguing. I used to get upset that my mom didn't set time aside for our family to
spend time together or make us eat together at the dinner table. I was upset because I was comparing our family to my friends' families. I valued those
things and assumed my mom didn't, but I was wrong. My mom had so much on her mind everyday it was breaking her on the inside. Not only had I
wanted my mom to be like my friend's moms, now I had wanted my mom to be different because she was depressed. Bonhoeffer mentions that we
desire images of others that we want, but aren't the true image they bear as Christ's (pg37–38). At first I was puzzled. How is a good image of mine, not
Christ's image for her? I learned that His image is neither right nor wrong, but simply uniquely divine. My mom could have done those things, but her
whole life would have had to be different, and I would never want to change who my mom is.
The few times we did get to spend time together as a family, it wouldn't feel like it. I knew all the relationships between my family members. I was
the one who they told everything to but ask me not to tell anyone. This was a lot of weight on my shoulders because I began caring for everyone
else's relationships; especially my mom's because my brother and sister would argue

My Mom Is My Hero
Everyone has someone they look up to, and everyone has a different hero. Some people's heros may be someone famous or someone in a book. My
hero just happens to be my mother, Naomi Peterson. She raised me and continues to raise me into the person I am and the person I am becoming.
She taught me from a very young age how to be a hard worker and to help others. For obvious reasons she is my idol and hero.
When I think about the qualities of a hero, I think of someone who is courageous, loving, and selfless. My mom is all of these and more. When I
was young and even today, I remember my mom doing things for others. She visited our neighbors, or cared for anyone who was sick or afflicted. My

Especially the widows. Looking back, my mother was raising two kids at home and taking care of the women of the ward. She did it wonderfully and
I'm so grateful for her example.I learned an important lesson from her about how to be selfless.
When my mother was in fourth grade, she was playing tag at recess. Then one of the boys grabbed her hair and didn't let go. So my mother swung
to make the boy let go, and they ended up getting in a fist fight. The kids at recess began to surround them and started yelling stuff. Somehow she got
ahold of the boys hands, swung him around and let go just right so he slid down the hill that they were on. After that the boys never bugged her again.
Even though my mother was shy, I think that is pretty courageous for a young girl. When she tells me that story she reminds me to have courage and
stick up for yourself and for others.
My mother lives 2,872 miles away from her parents. Every time we go to Hawaii it breaks my heart when she has to leave my grandparents. I
admire my mother so much for being able to stay strong living so far away especially as they are getting so old. She has a tremendous amount of
courage being able to adjust to a new culture in Idaho.
My mom has raised five children, and I am the last one at home. "Perhaps it takes courage to raise children.." (Steinbeck) I think that couldn't be more
true. She raised all three of my older sisters to be

My Mother In My Life
My mother is a very complicated woman. I believe the best way to describe her would be, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." I know,
weird way to start off my literary story, right? As much as I do not like my mother, I love her, and respect her. While I am being honest, I owe my
work ethic and a vast majority of my success to her, as much as I hate to admit it. The way she lived her life, most college graduates and the societal
hoity toity types would raise their noses to. However, you can't deny her dedication to her children and their education, she is the start of my literacy
journey. My mother wasn't always...how do it put this? Let's go with questionable, and she was stable and the picture–perfect mother when she was
married to my father. My mother and father thought it would be beneficial for her to stay at home with my twin brother and I. Flash cards were
always there, before Kindergarten my mom made sure my twin and I could count to 100, we knew our ABC's, we could write our names, our
parents' names, knew our address and phone number. Every Thursday we went to the public library for story time and to pick out our books for
the week. Before nap and before bed we would read one of Miguel's books and one of mine, some of the books we read so much that my brother
and I memorized the stories. We would even pretend to read those favorite stories. As the years went on and we went to school my mother was super
involved. She had all our grades emailed to her,

My Most Important Mentors In My Life : My Mother
I could say I have many mentors in my life, but my most important mentor is my mom. A mentor to me is someone who critically guides you
through your life decisions and provokes endless learning from their life experiences and wisdom. The only person who meets my idea of a
mentor is my mom. I have known her since birth and have always felt loved and cared by her. She gives me every tool I could possibly need to
succeed through primary school and onto postsecondary schooling. She has always given me words of encouragement, been honest when I am in
the wrong, and has always pushed me to reach my potential. I went to my mom on a Sunday, which is family day in our house. We went out to
lunch with my brother since he was visiting from college, and I got the opportunity to ask my mom about her views on Mitch's and my topics. In
my conversation with my mom we talked about three topics; A meaningful life, Family, and Education. Mitch's first topic was what it means to have
a meaningful life. My mom believes that what it means to have a meaningful life, is that it should not be defined by money or other people's
opinions. But rather it should be defined by your happiness and compassion for the things you do in your everyday life. When discussing Mitch's
second topic, family, my mom believes that the most important thing is that family is there for you to be honest, and to be critical of your decisions
in life. We both agreed they should be supportive of your passions and beliefs,

further showing how she doesn't judge people based on their race, weight, sexuality, etc, fairly further showing how when she particularly was
younger she basically had kind of big hair because she kind of lived in the 80's in a subtle way. When she's sad she doesn't show it because she can
very timid, so she wore leg warmers and fairly bright neon colors in a pretty major way. When she's angry she will essentially let you know,
demonstrating that she actually puts her foot down and generally holds her ground when she particularly has to, pretty further showing how she really
was a very stylish teenager, which mostly is quite significant. When she's proud, she tells me and generally makes generally sure I basically know she

Blonde hair, blue eyes, and a smile that you'll never forget. By definition my mom is just a mom, but to me, she is a superhero. To say the least my
mom has been through hell and back, but clinging to hope and faith she has jumped every hurdle that is placed in front of her. To be half the woman my
mother is, will be a true blessing.
My mom has one of those laughs that is contagious, one that you can't help but laugh along. She has crystal blue eyes that'll make anyone with
brown eyes jealous, long blonde hair, and just the right amount of freckles. Without a doubt, she has the biggest heart and the kindest soul I have ever
seen. She would drop anything and everything to help whoever was in need. Her love for her children is indescribable. There was never a time that I
didn't see my mom cheering in the stands at every game, coming to every parent–teacher night, or watching at every dance recital.
Growing up was nothing short of easy, attending 6 different schools by the time she was 15 due to overcrowding, moving, and alternative reasons.
She was forced to drop out in the eleventh grade because my oldest brother was on his way. "One night can change your life forever." My mom
was 16 with a newborn baby, struggling to make it day by day. Her parents didn't condone her having a baby at such a young age so they wanted
her out. "Do you know what it feels like to be so young, so scared, and having your parents want nothing to do with you or the baby you're about to
have?" Overcoming all of those obstacles, my parents both went back to school and eventually opened their own business in child care. When I ask
my mom what she would do differently in her early life, she always answers with "not a darn thing".
Owning a child care center had its ups and downs. There were always those kids who would come in with rags for clothes, and shoes that looked
about 8 months too small. My mom had the biggest heart for those kids, always wanting to just take them home and care for them. There was a time
when 3 sisters enrolled, all being about a year and a half apart from each other. Their mother was abusing drugs and the boyfriend seemed to be
abusing the kids. Seeing the marks and listening to the oldest sister tell stories of

Narrative Essay : My Mom
For this narrative, I interviewed my mom, Amanda Lopez. At first, she seems mean. That's very blunt but it's true. My mom is a very guarded and
self–reserved person. She does have manners and she is nice but, she won't open up immediately to a new person. She is also very hard working and
independent. She wasn't born with these qualities, she went through a lot of different struggles, but that's how she ended up where she is today.
My mom didn't have a very good high school experience. Her mom always moved, which caused her to move. Which caused her to have few friends.
She never participated in sports or arts. She mostly focused on her home life and school. Her mom never really supported her. When asked about the
future, she state "I never thought about the future, it was more of a day by day, moment by moment kind of thing. How am I going to pay for this and
when will I get my homework done?" My mom had to buy her own clothes, pay the rent at her mom's house, and juggle school work. So, as you can
imagine, she had a lot on her plate. Although, she did have support from her aunt and uncle. But, she still had to do a lot of things on her own. "Aunt
Terri and I would go to her parent's house and hang out on the farm. We would do every day normal stuff like baking and knitting." Essentially, Aunt
Terri was the mom she never had, she taught her basic skills and gave her tips on different things. "They were the ones that came to my volleyball
games and made cupcakes for the

everything to the empty feeling that I was living for no reason. I drifted through the days, attempting to forget about my ridiculous idea, but for some
reason my birthday triggered the insecurity inside. I tried to hide my pain, so no one would not worry about me. After a small party with my family,
during which I faked smiles and pretended to be happy, my mother approached me in the kitchen of our house. Family tends to stay late at parties, so

My Mother, My Friend
My Mother, My Friend It is not easy, moving back home with your parents as an adult. Especially when you are the parent of grown children

Being A Mother : My Life Of My Mother
My mother is the most diligent worker I know and I highly respect her for that. My mom, sister, and I moved across the globe to find better
opportunities for jobs and Education. She worked two jobs as a single mother, and was still able to take care of and support my sister and me in
anything we aspired to do. Being a mother itself is difficult enough because it is an everyday job with no brakes or vacation. She is the person who
inspires me and the person who motivates me to do my best at everything I do. To her, my sister and I's happiness was worth more to her than her
own and for that I truly believe she is the best person in the world. Even when things get hard for her, she does not take time out for herself. During the
death of my grandfather, she had no time to grieve over him because she told us that she has work to keep my sister and I fed and happy. That was
when I realized that if she is going through all the gruelling effort just to keep me and my sister happy, then my goal in life would just to give back to
her by making her proud of me. With her as my motivation I joined things that would make her proud. Freshmen year, I auditioned for thehigh school
traveling band, which was a truly challenging band to get into. I was one of only six freshmen to get in. Joining that band allowed me to experience
my first time traveling with the school across the country to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, one of the most prestigious halls to perform in the

She didn't have to choose me, she didn't have to provide for me, she didn't have to love me and she most definitely didn't have to take me in, but
she did. I'm so unbelievably proud to call my mom my hero. When I was just a baby, I was living with my Biological mom and it was an abusive
home. She didn't provide for me, nurture me, or any of the things you should do for a baby. Sadly, she was too drunk all the time to even feed me.
When I was 10 months Social Services took me to a foster home and when I was one, I was adopted by the most amazing and most beautiful
person whom to this day, I call my mom. She adopted me, and took me in like I was her own child. Growing up she showed me that she is going to
love me, take care of me, and most importantly, treat me like I'm wanted. She stayed awake numbers of nights just holding me while I lied awake
crying my eyes out from my scary past and they turned into night mares. To this day, I still have those dreams. In my opinion, it would be quite
annoying to have a baby screaming and crying all the time. But she didn't mind because she understood I was hurting. There was a time when all
my siblings and I were together, and had dinner together. All the little kids were playing outside and we could see them through the window. My
mom didn't want them in there for this talk. My mom told us she has Skin and Kidney Cancer. She told us she didn't know how bad it was but that
we will keep on going forward with doctors' appointments. Almost every day that my mom was going through that, she has stayed positive even
when she is hurting to her max. I might be bragging a little bit, but I believe I have the strongest mom out there. My mom always made sure my
siblings and I had smiles on our faces even when we didn't want to smile. Now a days, I'm her favorite trouble child! I got sent away for half a year
to a residential treatment facility. I truly believed my mom was giving me up when she told me I'm going to treatment for 6 months. I've never had
so much hate in my heart before for someone. Even after all of the times I was so unbelievably rude, and nasty, and hateful towards her, she took it
all, and still showed me love. There was never a day when I was gone that she

Descriptive Essay About My Mother
No matter how hard life gets for me and how chaotic things can become there has always been one person that I can turn to, my mom. She's been a
wealth of advice to call on when I'm clueless and a shoulder to cry on when I'm down. Her compassion for others inspires me to be a better person as
does the guidance she has given me over the years. She's not afraid to give me a reality check and to tell me the things I don't want to hear even though I
need to. She keeps me grounded and teaches me to appreciate the smaller things in life. Even though my dad was still involved in my life after my
parents split up it was my mother who I primarily lived with and it was her who had the greatest influence on my life growing up. Anyone who has

Heaven help you if you do anything to endanger her family. My mom also does not go soft on her kids; she can be a formidable disciplinarian when
she wants to and will not hesitate to set us straight when we broke the rules. She won't let anybody walk over her and is really quick to anger if you
try. My mother is strong–willed and stubborn; when she sets her mind to something almost nothing will stop her and what an impossible feat it is to
change her mind on something. She is very impatient; when she wants something done she wants it done at this very moment, no later. She is
idealistic and she enjoys the simpler things that life has to offer. She loves nature and would love nothing more than to be living in a cabin in the
mountains while listening to country music. She does not pay much attention to news happening outside her local area and prefers to focus on what's
happening in her immediate area. From my mother I have learned how to be the person that I am today. Through her I have learned the importance of
family and that it is paramount to spend time with them while I still have it. Even now I try to spend time with my family when I have the opportunity
to. Form her I have learned compassion for those around me and for animals. Even

My Mother Essay
What can one say about their mother? One may talk about her positive and negative characteristics. There are so many great traits I love and admire
about my mom, that it would be difficult and unfair to write about just one. Being strong, generous and optimistic are all some great personality traits,
which my mother possesses.
Ever since I can remember, my mother has been a strong individual. She raised my brother and I financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually
by herself. My mom gave her all, by that I mean, she worked two jobs to make sure her children ate properly and that they had the essential amenities
to grow happily and successfully. Another way she supported us was with love and care. My mom...show more content...
She would encourage me by simply saying, "Complaining is a useless way to solve problems, but becoming active on the issue is a great way to
conquer it. My mother My mother has always had strong faith and views in her religion. When I was younger, every day and night, she would bring
prayer time to me and my brother's attention. My mom instilled As a child, my mother displayed the seriousness of spirituality. In which she expressed
her faith in us at an early age, that prayer time was not the time to make jokes nor to complain about having to partake in it.
One lesson she taught us the most, was how seriousness about our spiritual beliefs could provide us with a substantial, stable and structural lifestyle.
My mother's heart is at its purest when giving. I witnessed my mother chip in and pay for people's rent, car notes, and buying them groceries. Although
my mother's intentions were good, occasionally, her generosity has been taken advantage of. One time a close friend of the family, came to my mother
in desperate need. He asked her to loan him a large amount of money, with the agreement that he would pay back in either monthly or weekly
installments. My mom never did see the money that was due to her. Despite the incident she still gives and encourages others to give, whether is it a
donation, or volunteering your time in your community. My

My Mother: The Best Mother
My mother has many wonderful traits, but there's a few that stand out. First of all, her wisdom is outstanding. She provides great advice no matter the
situation. Also, I'd say she has a positive mentality. She always has this optimistic point of view for everything. Ultimately, the trait that stands out in
her the most is compassion. It's incredible the way she shows compassion towards everyone. Her way of demonstrating compassion is very unique. She
always puts herself in everyone else's shoes, without naming their flaws. Overall, she the best mother I could have asked for.

He gave us the hospitals name and we instantly looked it up in the GPS and my mother drove us there. We quickly ran up to the floor where my
brother was being treated. As soon as we saw my father sitting in the waiting room my mother ran up him to ask him what did the doctors say
about my brother. He said that due to his grave condition he had to be placed in intensive care. That as soon as my brother's condition stabilized,
we would be able to see him. My mother was trying to be strong, I could see it in her eyes and in the way she talked. Since time was passing by and
we were already tired, my father took us to a hotel and left us there. He then went back to the hospital with my mother. Days went by and little
improvement was shown, things were beginning to look good. Nurses informed us that we were able to see my brother. But only two people can
be in the room at once. So both of my parents went in first. Then after a while, my brothers and I went in. He was in a bed asleep, he looked tired
and exhausted. We decided to leave and let him rest. Finally, a doctor came out the door and through the hallway looking for my parents. My mother
quickly stood up and asked him how was my brother doing. The doctor said that my brother had the flu and two other viruses that he had encountered
most probably in the previous hospital. My mother's face was sadness in every sense

Descriptive Essay About My Mom
When I was born, I was one pound and ten ounces. I was too small to be a healthy child. I was put on a ventilator, and I was transferred to a different
hospital being escorted by 4 police cars surrounded by the ambulance. Some people did not believe I would live to be a normal child because I was
supposed to have many complications yet the only thing I developed was bad eye sight. When my mother was able to hold me three months after I was
born she made a promise to me that she will be a good mom. My mom carries characteristics like inspiration, trustworthiness, and being positive, which
makes her the best mom.

There was one old man who shared his story of how he came back from serving in the Middle East and no one wanted to hire him because he is a
retired veteran. There was also a young woman who shared her story on how she escaped her abusive household. All of these stories would make
me sad, and mad with the injustices in the world. From them I realized how privileged I am to have a roof over my head, have food, water, and
receive an education. From these stories, my mom inspired me to give back to people that are less fortunate and one day share this experience when I
have children of my own.
Between my mom and my dad, I tell my mom the majority of what goes on in my life instead of my dad. My dad was raised completely different
than my mom. My dad was raised by rules and guidelines while my mom was raised on consequences. With this in hand, my dad's rules for me
never worked out since I would do the complete opposite. One of these occasions was the day I snuck out with my friend Linda to the beach at
midnight. I was happy to feel the cold sand on my toes, and smelling the salty breeze from the ocean. I wanted to get away from the stress of senior
year, college applications, and boys of course. While I did have a good time while it lasted, I came home at 3 o'clock in the morning. I told my mom
the next day that I snuck out. I also told her that the cameras took a picture of my license as I passed

Profile of My Mother
Getting to know my Mom It took me eighteen years to spend some quality time with my mother and discover what an incredible journey she has
had with my brothers and me. She is the kind of person who has always been very involved with all parts of our daily lives. In fact, she was the kind of
mother who always had time for her three sons, worked full–time and had time to devote to community projects too. Her energy and enthusiasm for all
of these things seemed endless and she always tried to teach the three of us to see the value in the idea of giving back to the community. I was always
glad that she was present at my games and supported me through school, but it took me over a decade to learn what motivated her to be so...show more

My mother also says, "...I am pretty sure God intended for me to have sons. I am more of a tomboy than I am barbie doll. I am sure I would not
have done well teaching a daughter how to do all the girlie things. Not to mention, when my nieces were little, I noticed the drama began very
early on and they talked incessantly." Of course she winks and grins with these remarks. She was like a second mother to my cousins and loves
them dearly. As much as she is quick to point out the reasons she loved having sons and why they are so easy to raise, there is more to this story. I
can 't count the times she has asked all of us why we need to scratch ourselves all of the time. This is not something females understand. It is not
something males really want or feel they need to explain because it is just what we do. She can laugh about it and enjoyed imitating us and asking if
we would like to see her walking around the house in her underwear scratching or fondling her parts. My mother was less tolerant of another brotherly
trait – squabbling. That was another part of our dynamic which just seemed normal to my brothers and me. We just liked to agitate each other. To my
mother this was upsetting because she didn 't want anyone hurt and she wanted to make sure we had good relationships in the future. It was not easy
for her to get us to engage in conversations about feelings and relationships. Try as she might, we were most often not did not feel her same

She's a small woman, her hair is short and the strands are few but thick. As I put my hands through her soft shiny hair I can almost feel her intense,
painful past that she carries on her shoulders melt away. She smells like home and food, bringing back delightful memories of when I would stand on
a chair next to her at the stove, as she taught me the secret of how to make our families enchilada sauce. Her skin is soft, from the countless nights she
has spent making tamales just to make ends meet.

I go to my mother's room, it's empty except for her dresser and the bed she sits on. I look at her and raise my shirt, "What are these?" I asked, her
face is cold and severe, showing no emotion. She looked at me, first at my stomach and then at my face "They're called fat marks" she says coldly as
she turned away, not giving me a second thought.
I run upstairs to my room, it was in the attic. I try to find solace, but there was none. I could not escape the words that my mother had just said, they
repeated in my head over and over again. Warmtears ran down my face, I search the room for something, anything to hold onto, to silence my cries, but
there was nothing. I wrapped my arms around myself and cried until I fell asleep from exhaustion.
I look in the mirror to see that my nose and lips are pink and tears are running down my cheeks, uncontrollably another memory jumps into my head.
I'm looking for something in the corner of my mom's room that is the unspoken designated area for clothes. I find my favorite white lace shirt, I had
found it in a second–hand store. It was the first shirt that I had found and bought myself and enjoyed wearing. It made me feel pretty, which was a
difficult task. "I thought I lost you." I said out loud, "What?" my mother said. I turned around to see my mom was struggling to get down the stairs to
her room, the pain of the movement evident on her face. I walked over to her and offered my arm and she took it.

My Mom Is My Greatest Influence College Essay

  • 1. My Mom Is My Greatest Influence College Essay My Mother Is My Greatest Influence in My Life I've learned through the eyes of my mother that life isn't easy. My mother has come a long way after losing her mother at a very young age and growing up with her father and grandmother and five siblings, one being a twin. My mom's dad had to make sacrifices while raising my mom and her siblings; it wasn't easy growing up without her mother, my mom put herself through college with the help of her dad. My mom has a successful career and is married and is raising a happy family. Initially I thought of a celebrity as a person with the most influence in my life, but as I thought about it, I realized my mother has had the most influence in my life, always smiling, laughing and having fun. • 2. My Mother And Mother My mother was my primary caregiver throughout all of my childhood. While my father was in the picture for a majority of my childhood, he was also a severe alcoholic which greatly impacted my upbringing. My rules, obligations, and expectations were not always set in stone and did often depend on the time, situation, and/or mood of my parents. I think it is normal for parents to differ slightly in their parenting styles occasionally. As a young kid I remember my sister and I being very aware that the mood my mother was in greatly contributed to the outcome of a question or event. I think most, if not all of us can relate to this. Overall however, I would say that my mother had an authoritative parenting style. My mother made is very clear that she was the parent and in charge, however she was welcoming and understanding enough that I felt comfortable coming to her with questions or problems. My mom was also very encouraging and supportive. She always pushed me to do my best but never made me feel bad if I did not reach my goals. I was lucky to have such a great relationship with my mom, not everyone does. As a young teenager I had many friends who would come to me with questions and concerns because they knew my mom was so open–minded and understanding. My mom was always my parent first and my friend second. I knew what was expected of me and I was disciplined for bad behavior, however I always knew I could go to her with anything I needed. My father, like many addicts was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. My Reflection On My Mother Essay A mother is someone who can take the place of all others but no one can take the place of her. There are many different definitions you could use to describe your mother. My mother, Pam Krull, fits every one of those. Today I decided to pick the three that I thought was most important to me. I admire and aspire to be like my mother because of how supportive, how selfless, and how loving she is. My mom has gone through a lot to get where she is today. I will begin by telling you a little bit about my mom's background. My mom grew up outside of George with her parents, Harris and Bev Kaster, and her three siblings, Erik, Brad, and Kristy. She attended George High School when they were still Blue Jays. My mom was involved in a lot of different activities. She was in the play, large group and individual speech, a cheerleader, played the drums in band, was in student council, secretary of her class, REC club, band, and jazz band. In her free time she hung out with friends and her sister. She had a few jobs growing up also. She babysat a lot, worked at the library, and the dentist office. My mother also helped teach bible school, catechism, and attended youth group at Hope Reformed Church. My mother met my dad, Doug Krull when she was a junior in high school. They dated for a while and ended getting married. They then had three beautiful daughters, Allyssa, Megan, and Rebecca. They can be strict and protective, its because they love their kids and they don't want them to get hurt. My parents are special to me because with all the hard time that they had to have me and my siblings in their life they still fought for us and didn't give up, even after 17 years of trying. But for me? The greatest of all is my mom. She is the one that I look up too. She is the greatest of all. Simple, funny, strict, protective, but yet she is the best. It's best to keep your weakness to yourself and yourself only, because humans would attack you using your weakness and they could get to you easily. She also always told me no one is your friend except your mom. She says, "Your mom is your best friend". Your mom is your best friend, sister, and your whole life. • 7. My Mother Is My Mom Growing up I've always had my mom and my grandmother taking care of me but, at times my mom would always have to work and I hated it. My mom worked late hours or went in early in the morning. Everyday I always wondered why did she have to leave, why couldn't she just stay home with us, was it that hard for her to just stay home? My granny did her very best taking care of us and I loved her so much for that. There was still always this though in my head everyday that i always thought of and that was "would mommy ever take off work and spend more time with us". If Janie had her father to love her like he should then i think she would not be out trying to find it. Her grandmother clearly loved her enough and that's all she needed but that was not what Janie wanted. Me and Janie and everyone else have been through many struggles but it's always that one struggle that hits you the hardest. My father situation i handled it well simply because, sometimes I really did not care most . I took this with me through my life because as i got older i started to learn that my mother had no choice but to work because of the thing we wanted and needed. • 8. Personal Narrative : My Mother And My Mom After my mother and I have an argument she usually smiles at me and says, it's because we're so much alike that we argue. She reminds me that our lack of communicating often stirs more trouble than why we were arguing. I used to get upset that my mom didn't set time aside for our family to spend time together or make us eat together at the dinner table. I was upset because I was comparing our family to my friends' families. I valued those things and assumed my mom didn't, but I was wrong. My mom had so much on her mind everyday it was breaking her on the inside. Not only had I wanted my mom to be like my friend's moms, now I had wanted my mom to be different because she was depressed. Bonhoeffer mentions that we desire images of others that we want, but aren't the true image they bear as Christ's (pg37–38). At first I was puzzled. How is a good image of mine, not Christ's image for her? I learned that His image is neither right nor wrong, but simply uniquely divine. My mom could have done those things, but her whole life would have had to be different, and I would never want to change who my mom is. The few times we did get to spend time together as a family, it wouldn't feel like it. I knew all the relationships between my family members. I was the one who they told everything to but ask me not to tell anyone. This was a lot of weight on my shoulders because I began caring for everyone else's relationships; especially my mom's because my brother and sister would argue Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My hero just happens to be my mother, Naomi Peterson. Then one of the boys grabbed her hair and didn't let go. So my mother swung to make the boy let go, and they ended up getting in a fist fight. The kids at recess began to surround them and started yelling stuff. Somehow she got ahold of the boys hands, swung him around and let go just right so he slid down the hill that they were on. After that the boys never bugged her again. Even though my mother was shy, I think that is pretty courageous for a young girl. When she tells me that story she reminds me to have courage and stick up for yourself and for others. My mother lives 2,872 miles away from her parents. Every time we go to Hawaii it breaks my heart when she has to leave my grandparents. I admire my mother so much for being able to stay strong living so far away especially as they are getting so old. • 10. My Mother In My Life My mother is a very complicated woman. I believe the best way to describe her would be, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." I know, weird way to start off my literary story, right? As much as I do not like my mother, I love her, and respect her. While I am being honest, I owe my work ethic and a vast majority of my success to her, as much as I hate to admit it. The way she lived her life, most college graduates and the societal hoity toity types would raise their noses to. However, you can't deny her dedication to her children and their education, she is the start of my literacy journey. My mother wasn't always...how do it put this? Let's go with questionable, and she was stable and the picture–perfect mother when she was married to my father. My mother and father thought it would be beneficial for her to stay at home with my twin brother and I. Flash cards were always there, before Kindergarten my mom made sure my twin and I could count to 100, we knew our ABC's, we could write our names, our parents' names, knew our address and phone number. Every Thursday we went to the public library for story time and to pick out our books for the week. Before nap and before bed we would read one of Miguel's books and one of mine, some of the books we read so much that my brother and I memorized the stories. We would even pretend to read those favorite stories. As the years went on and we went to school my mother was super involved. A mentor to me is someone who critically guides you through your life decisions and provokes endless learning from their life experiences and wisdom. The only person who meets my idea of a mentor is my mom. I have known her since birth and have always felt loved and cared by her. She gives me every tool I could possibly need to succeed through primary school and onto postsecondary schooling. She has always given me words of encouragement, been honest when I am in the wrong, and has always pushed me to reach my potential. I went to my mom on a Sunday, which is family day in our house. We went out to lunch with my brother since he was visiting from college, and I got the opportunity to ask my mom about her views on Mitch's and my topics. In my conversation with my mom we talked about three topics; A meaningful life, Family, and Education. Mitch's first topic was what it means to have a meaningful life. My mom believes that what it means to have a meaningful life, is that it should not be defined by money or other people's opinions. But rather it should be defined by your happiness and compassion for the things you do in your everyday life. When discussing Mitch's second topic, family, my mom believes that the most important thing is that family is there for you to be honest, and to be critical of your decisions in life. We both agreed they should be supportive of your passions and beliefs, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 13. Descriptive Essay About My Mom Blonde hair, blue eyes, and a smile that you'll never forget. By definition my mom is just a mom, but to me, she is a superhero. To say the least my mom has been through hell and back, but clinging to hope and faith she has jumped every hurdle that is placed in front of her. To be half the woman my mother is, will be a true blessing. My mom has one of those laughs that is contagious, one that you can't help but laugh along. She has crystal blue eyes that'll make anyone with brown eyes jealous, long blonde hair, and just the right amount of freckles. Without a doubt, she has the biggest heart and the kindest soul I have ever seen. She would drop anything and everything to help whoever was in need. Her love for her children is indescribable. There was never a time that I didn't see my mom cheering in the stands at every game, coming to every parent–teacher night, or watching at every dance recital. Growing up was nothing short of easy, attending 6 different schools by the time she was 15 due to overcrowding, moving, and alternative reasons. She was forced to drop out in the eleventh grade because my oldest brother was on his way. "One night can change your life forever." She does have manners and she is nice but, she won't open up immediately to a new person. She is also very hard working and independent. When asked about the future, she state "I never thought about the future, it was more of a day by day, moment by moment kind of thing. How am I going to pay for this and when will I get my homework done?" My mom had to buy her own clothes, pay the rent at her mom's house, and juggle school work. So, as you can imagine, she had a lot on her plate. Although, she did have support from her aunt and uncle. But, she still had to do a lot of things on her own. "Aunt Terri and I would go to her parent's house and hang out on the farm. We would do every day normal stuff like baking and knitting." I am fortunate enough to have my mother be a professional counselor, making her exceptional at both qualities. A couple of years ago, she earned a master's degree, became both a school counselor and a clinical counselor, and specialized in helping young people. She worked two jobs as a single mother, and was still able to take care of and support my sister and me in anything we aspired to do. Being a mother itself is difficult enough because it is an everyday job with no brakes or vacation. She is the person who inspires me and the person who motivates me to do my best at everything I do. To her, my sister and I's happiness was worth more to her than her own and for that I truly believe she is the best person in the world. Even when things get hard for her, she does not take time out for herself. During the death of my grandfather, she had no time to grieve over him because she told us that she has work to keep my sister and I fed and happy. I'm so unbelievably proud to call my mom my hero. When I was just a baby, I was living with my Biological mom and it was an abusive home. She didn't provide for me, nurture me, or any of the things you should do for a baby. Sadly, she was too drunk all the time to even feed me. When I was 10 months Social Services took me to a foster home and when I was one, I was adopted by the most amazing and most beautiful person whom to this day, I call my mom. She adopted me, and took me in like I was her own child. Growing up she showed me that she is going to love me, take care of me, and most importantly, treat me like I'm wanted. She stayed awake numbers of nights just holding me while I lied awake crying my eyes out from my scary past and they turned into night mares. To this day, I still have those dreams. In my opinion, it would be quite annoying to have a baby screaming and crying all the time. But she didn't mind because she understood I was hurting. There was a time when all my siblings and I were together, and had dinner together. All the little kids were playing outside and we could see them through the window. My mom didn't want them in there for this talk. My mom told us she has Skin and Kidney Cancer. She told us she didn't know how bad it was but that we will keep on going forward with doctors' appointments. Almost every day that my mom was going through that, she has stayed positive even when she is hurting to her max. I might be bragging a little bit, but I believe I have the strongest mom out there. My mom always made sure my siblings and I had smiles on our faces even when we didn't want to smile. Now a days, I'm her favorite trouble child! I got sent away for half a year to a residential treatment facility. I truly believed my mom was giving me up when she told me I'm going to treatment for 6 months. I was always glad that she was present at my games and supported me through school, but it took me over a decade to learn what motivated her to be so...show more content... My mother also says, "...I am pretty sure God intended for me to have sons. I am more of a tomboy than I am barbie doll. I am sure I would not have done well teaching a daughter how to do all the girlie things. Not to mention, when my nieces were little, I noticed the drama began very early on and they talked incessantly." Of course she winks and grins with these remarks. She was like a second mother to my cousins and loves them dearly. As much as she is quick to point out the reasons she loved having sons and why they are so easy to raise, there is more to this story. I can 't count the times she has asked all of us why we need to scratch ourselves all of the time. This is not something females understand. It is not something males really want or feel they need to explain because it is just what we do. She can laugh about it and enjoyed imitating us and asking if we would like to see her walking around the house in her underwear scratching or fondling her parts. My mother was less tolerant of another brotherly trait – squabbling. That was another part of our dynamic which just seemed normal to my brothers and me. We just liked to agitate each other. • 25. Descriptive Essay About My Mother She's a small woman, her hair is short and the strands are few but thick. As I put my hands through her soft shiny hair I can almost feel her intense, painful past that she carries on her shoulders melt away. Her skin is soft, from the countless nights she has spent making tamales just to make ends meet. She is fragile looking, almost as if a fall of a leaf would be enough to bring her plummeting down. I wrap my arms tenderly around her trying to embrace her fully while being as gentle as possible. Yet she is strong of mind, spirit, and soul, she...show more content... I go to my mother's room, it's empty except for her dresser and the bed she sits on. I look at her and raise my shirt, "What are these?" I asked, her face is cold and severe, showing no emotion. She looked at me, first at my stomach and then at my face "They're called fat marks" she says coldly as she turned away, not giving me a second thought. I run upstairs to my room, it was in the attic. I try to find solace, but there was none. I could not escape the words that my mother had just said, they repeated in my head over and over again. Warmtears ran down my face, I search the room for something, anything to hold onto, to silence my cries, but there was nothing. I find my favorite white lace shirt, I had found it in a second–hand store. It was the first shirt that I had found and bought myself and enjoyed wearing. It made me feel pretty, which was a difficult task. "I thought I lost you." I said out loud, "What?" my mother said. I turned around to see my mom was struggling to get down the stairs to her room, the pain of the movement evident on her face. I walked over to her and offered my arm and she took it.
