What is the purpose of education? Wow, that is a loaded question. For many students, their educational experience will look different from their
classmates. Some want to become doctors and lawyers while others desire to be auto mechanics and beauticians. Although it may be easier if everyone
had the same purpose through education, that is definitely not the case. As a future educator I want to ensure my students have an impactful education.
My educational philosophy contains multiple purposes for education including providing a bright future for everyone, fostering growth, instilling a

By looking past the differences in all of my students and providing an equitable education, I will better be preparing them for a bright and
successful future. Another important facet of my educational philosophy is an emphasis on growth, not perfection. I think that the focus on high test
scores and good grades is too large. This teaches kids that they are not good enough unless they achieve at the highest level in school. When energy
is directed towards perfection, students will have lower self confidence and will lose passion for learning. To combat the harmful effects of the
unrealistic expectation of perfection, I will reward progress. Instead of applauding the students who are succeeding academically, I will praise those
who constantly improve on their skills. While the final goal will always be the ability to function highly in a school setting, it will never be the main
focus. Rewarding progress and improvement teaches students that they are capable of succeeding in school and removes a potentially harm from the

I believe the purpose of education is to get kids to think critically and creatively on their own, find self–motivation, and find independence and
responsibility. This can be done by a teacher allowing students to pick how they will be tested or final exams, such as, singing, building, acting, or

the system molds citizens into democratic citizens. Indeed, all that was mentioned are wonderful goals, but the reality of the public school system does

Instead we find an organization that is outdated, constructed on social hierarchies, that disregards everything we know about effective organizations

The first eight years of a child's education is where he learns the basics of everything. This is where a child learns values, how to read and analyze
material, how to think critically when solving math problems, use different strategies, take timed tests, write basic five paragraph essays, and so on.
Without these first eight years of education which carry a child into his or adolescent phase, a child will not be able to reach his full mental
development. As a child grows, his intellect and ability to reason and make educated decisions should reach higher levels.
Once a child graduates from elementary school and goes on to high school, he or she is already molded into the person he or she will be for the
rest of his or her life. Sure all kids become more mature within those four years, but their values are still the same, and in some cases even stronger.
In most circumstances, a child will use what they learned in the past to make decisions inhe future. High school, however, is important for other
reasons as well. High school is the very last step before a student can enter the realm of higher education. Therefore, high school is essentially what
prepares a student to go on to bigger and better things. High school is where
