• red contacts
• red and purple paint and red eyeliner to portray tiredness/ sore eyes
• Skin:
• Boils (prosthetic gelatine), red and purple face paint around boils
• PVA glue (infected skin)

• concealer on lips to show lack of blood
• Hair:

3. Sound Effects
• Use of a rubber foot filled with socks and
wrapped in newspaper to create thump type of
noise. Add water to newspaper creates a more
sloppy type sound when hit with a knife
• Wrap dry rice noodles in newspaper to create
a bone cutting type noise.
• Cutting through flesh is created by slicing
through a lemon.
• Weapon swing foleys can be recreated by
swinging a tennis bat.
• Use of rubber and moist plastics is used for a
lot of thumping noises as that is the closest
you can probably get to a life like flesh noise.
• Overall cutting of fleshes and squishing of
fleshes can be recreated through fruits and
citrous fruits like lemons, oranges etc.
4. Editing the Sound Effects
• To enhance the impact sounds you bring up the noise gate to 0
therefore the only sound you here is the actual thumping sounds,
which emphasises the sound clearer.
• For the “squishy” or bone crunching sounds you would edited them
into the thumping noises you created prior to the thumping noises.
• To create a perfect noise you would use a lot of cut editing and
timing to ensure the noises occur at perfect moments to create a
life like sound.
• Once the sound effects have been created individually you would
put it into your film and make sure it corresponds with the picture.
