1. Explained the disease cycle of anthrax (disease
of animals and humans caused by Bacillus
anthracis, which is a type of bacterium).

Studied at the University of Gottingen from 1840-1866
He studied in the laboratory he built in Wollstein,

Europe in the late part of the 1800’s
