6. Use Cases
Avoid multitasking
No more F.O.M.O or forgetting
Reminders & Saved messages Summary
Multi-tasking is one of the many ways members use Slack to
manage their work. To focus on deeper work members have
historically used the Saved bookmark and reminders to identify
messages they want to come back to, treating these as a to-do list.
But there’s been no comprehensive view nor or sufficient ability to
manage and triage these items. They’ve had to jump back and forth
between the “Saved items” view and SlackBot DM, which can quickly
become difficult to manage if these are used heavily.
To help reduce the need to context switch and make members more
productive, they can use the new “Later” page, replacing “Saved
Items” as the home for all types of saved messages. Members can
now take action right from those messages, enabling them to
respond, reschedule, complete, and archive.
What’s New
● Access all saved items within the Later view from the sidebar
● Triage items between In Progress, Archived & Completed tabs
● Act directly on saved items–react, update due dates & more
● Reminders notify with alerts to the Later view instead of SlackBot
● Previously saved items can be accessed in the new Archived tab
