To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Brian Ouellette and I have recently relocated to Ottawa, Ontario. I will be looking for teaching jobs as soon as
I have my work permit. I have spent the last nine years at St. Monica School Catholic School in Dallas, Texas. During the
2015-2016 schoolyear,I was the Director of the June Cooper Learning Center where I was responsible for overseeing the
implementation and monitoring of accommodation plans for students. I was also providing quality professional
development for teachers and staff in the area of Differentiation, Universal Design of Learning and working with
accommodations. During the eight years prior to this school year, I taught 6th grade Social Studies and 8th grade Religion. I
was also the Junior High Coordinator and was in charge of weekly schedules, schedule changes, and organizing events
related to the Junior High. I
I enjoy teaching and have been teaching since 1990 when I received my first job offer at Bishop Dunne High School in
Dallas. I have since taught in many schools throughout the Houston and Dallas areas as well as serve as Assistant
Principal once and Principal at two different schools. I am highly organized and communicate well with parents,
colleagues, and administration. I maintained weekly lesson plans that guided my teaching of the curriculum but also
believed these lesson plans should be flexible and changed depending on the interaction and interest of students. I
challenged my students to thinkbeyond the lesson and to strive to see how what is being learned in class can be
extrapolated and implemented in their daily lives.
I am extremely organized and enjoy planning and implementing a variety of activities (e.g., May Crowning, 8th Grade Pines
Trip, Confirmation, Graduation, etc.). I work well with my colleagues and believe it is important to develop quality-
working relationships with all members of the school staff. I speakmy mind in a respectful manner, especially when I
may disagree with a decision or suggestion. I respect the opinions of others and willingly put aside my bias in favor of
what is best for the students and the school.
Education goes beyond the four walls of the school building and it is my job to be sure that when my students leave my
room at the end of the year that they leave with more tools in their toolbox of skills that will help them as they journey
upon the path to which they have been called by God.
I thankyou for your time and look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Brian Ouellette
