Split into pairs with one other
person who can also
participate (who also has
brought two copies of a draft).
Each member should read
their draft aloud. Each
reviewer should follow along
on their printed copy of the
draft. (They can make editing
marks, if necessary.)
When each member has read,
they should each answer the
questions at the right IN
WRITING.
When you are done writing out
your answers, present your
answers (aloud) to the author.
1. Is this draft formatted in MLA style (including the heading, header,
margins, and font)?
2. Does the introduction explain the scenario in enough detail and
make it clear why this is an important question?
3. What is the paper’s thesis? Does it outline the order of the body
paragraphs?
4. Does each of the topic sentences make the POINT of that body
paragraph?
5. Find a body paragraph that is a PIE paragraph and label each of the
three components: POINT, INFORMATION, EXPLANATION.
6. Which body paragraph provides the most convincing information and
explanation? Why?
7. Which body paragraph seems the least convincing? Why? What needs
to be added?
8. Describe WHO the author wants in their community.
9. Describe HOW the author’s community will consider themselves a
community or function as such.
10.Describe HOW the community will meet the important needs
(survival and non-survival).
