This document summarizes four crowdfunding campaigns on Indiegogo: Crystal Unicorn Tarot Cards, Solz solar bags, Clever Buoy marine life monitor, and Leftovers App. It discusses the funding goals and amounts achieved for each campaign. It also analyzes desirable and undesirable reward tiers, such as Crystal Unicorn Tarot Cards offering a set of cards for $25 and Leftovers App misleadingly offering "free ice cream for a year".

Crystal Unicorn Tarot’s
Reward (desirable)
Backing $25 buys you a set of the tarot cards
This is a good reward because it is a typical
amount someone would pay for a set of tarot
cards. Because it is a good price for a good
product, over 300 people chose this reward
when backing it.
It is important to appropriately price rewards
on a crowdfunding campaign.
5. zSolar-Powered Bags
Solar-powered bags and lifestyle
accessories that will empower your life.

Solz’s Rewards
(desirable)
One of Solz’s funding rewards was a
$10 gift card to their store as a reward
for backing them $10. I thought this
was an interesting and good idea,
because the backers feel like they
aren’t out anything, while the company
guarantees future customers.

Clever Buoy
Clever Buoy is a marine monitoring and alert
system that detects large marine life, like sharks
to keep beaches safe.
Social Entrepreneurship – environment and
community safety
Funding Goal: $25,000
Funding Achieved: $220

Clever Buoy’s
Reward
(undesirable)
One of Clever Buoy’s Rewards was a
wavestorm surfboard for backing $250. While
this reward fits in well with the campaign’s
theme, I thought it was way overpriced and
therefore undesirable. If they could customize
the wavestorm to have a design or logo about
their company on it that would increase the
reward’s value, but otherwise people could just
go to Costco and buy the same product for half
the price.

Leftovers App:
Rescue and reroute
excess food
The app will alert volunteers to pick up excess food
from vendors and reroute to service agencies.
Social Entrepreneurship
Funding Goal: $20,000
Funding Achieved: $911 (in progress)

Leftover App’s
Rewards
(undesirable)
I love the concept and the purpose of this
project. It’s a great idea! Backers are
rewarded “Free Icecream for a year” for
$250. While that sounds great, the fineprint
explains that you actually only get one free
scoop a month from an icecream parlor in
Calgary. Only local backers would be able
to get this reward, and it isn’t even what
they make it out to be.
