IN WHAT WAYS DOES YOUR MEDIA
PRODUCT USE, DEVELOP AND CHALLENGE
FORMS AND CONVENTIONS OF REAL MEDIA
PRODUCTS?

2. MEDIA PRODUCT
• My media product used various tuypes of conventions to those horror fims past and
present. These cpnventions help me to show my audince that my media product is a
horror film and that it contains the obvious themes that a horror film should cotain.

3. THE GHOST OR SUBJECT
• The subject that my media product was about was a gost like figure that roams the
corridors and rooms of a school. This worked really well with my product and my genre
because the atmosphere and tension that the subject brings to the product made it weiry
and typically scary. This makes my product seem like a typical horror film and helps to
support the genre of the film.

4. THE DAMSEL IN DISTRESS
• The characters in my media
product were all damsels, this is
because they scared and
worried and in danger. This is
similar to may horror films, such
as ‘Friday The 13th’ where the
film contains a damsel who is
trapped, worried and scared, in
our product we used the damsel
to help make sure the film
becomes a horror.

5. HOME VIDEO
Similar to films such as ‘Paranormal Activity’ our product was based upon a home video and
self-filmed video. This is because along with various other horror films, the home video genre
seemed popular and very successful, therefore by being one it would be hoped our product
would be also very popular.
