This is the opening title sequence that I made for the 2:30 opening sequence for the 2013 summer blockbuster Pacific Rim. I noted the shots, editing and transitions used as well as the way credits were shown to give me a insight on pacing myself when it comes to the post production phase of my project.

Shot shows close up of a clack mecha helmet, the camera pans from the front
to the back of its head in a 180˚ turn.

In a medium close up we now see the Jaeger being constructed as large
machines tweak at the armour.

In a dolly like move the camera moves along the arm to the Jaegers elbow.

The camera observes a nuclear light emanating from the Jaegers elbow and
quickly slides down the arm of the jaeger until we are in a low angles shot
beneath the Jaegers fist.
01:05-01:10

The camera pulls back to reveal the Jaeger in an attacking pose with the fist
from earlier forming a fighting pose.

The camera whip pans across the Jaeger from the pose before building up to
solid punch in the face to the Kiju

The red tint is now the background colour with a more dramatic blood like
look to it. Working well with the music building up.

slow motion as thecamerapans down toalow anglelongshot of a
battlefield with helicopters, tanks and turrets. With comicbook
likestripes stream followingthemovement of thegiants.

the movement of the giants.

before the Jaeger’s helmet now protrudes a light.

Jaegers nuclear engine.

crane like movement pulls backwards.
