The major industry sectors include:
- The film industry which includes development, production, facilities, distribution, exhibition and export of films. Companies include All3Media and Talkback Thames.
- The radio industry which provides entertainment and news through broadcast of radio stations. It includes local and national radio stations like BBC Radio 1.
- The television industry which produces TV programs, still a popular form of entertainment. Companies include BBC, Sky and Granada.
- The print industry which involves the reproduction of text and images using printing presses and is part of publishing.
- The advertising and marketing industry which uses various media like TV, online, print to communicate with audiences and promote products and brands.

2. Film Industry
• The film industry basically means the world of film making.
• When we talk about the film industry, we're referring to its
six different component parts: Development, Production,
Facilities, Distribution, Exhibition and Export.
• A few examples of companies within this
industry are;

3. Radio Industry
• The "radio industry" is a generic term for any companies or public service
providers who are involved with the broadcast of radio stations or ancillary services.
• The radio industry provides entertainment and news to all listeners. The
entertainment aspect is a mixture of music, shows and competitions. The Radio is
well known for music people can listen to for there own entertainment as well as
listening to the news to get information on what have been happening in the world.
Radio do provide competitions for the viewers to win, it can be a cash prize, holiday
or a product. Some Radio industry allows listeners a chance to have a tour around
the studio of the Radio Company
• There are many different radio companies (stations) such as our local radio
stations; Key103 and Capital. Or our national radio station; BBC Radio1/2 ect.
4. Television Industry
• The television industry is the same as the film industry, but
instead of making films they make TV programmes.
• It is still one of the most popular forms of entertainment and
information, with the average British viewer still watching
twenty hours or more per week.
• Examples of TV companies are; BBC, Sky and Granada.
5. Print Industry
• Printing is a process for reproducing text and
images, typically with ink on paper using a
printing press. It is often carried out as a large-
scale industrial process, and is an essential
part of publishing and transaction printing.
6. Advertising and Marketing Industry
• Advertising is used for communicating with an audience to try and persuade them to
buy/watch their product.
• There are many different types of advertising, such as:
• Television/Radio advertising.
• Online advertising
• Product placement
• Press advertising
• Billboard advertising
• Mobile billboard advertising
• In-store advertising
• Celebrity advertising
• The marketing, advertising industry covers a range of functions from the technical
elements of market research to the more creative product/brand development,
promotion, media relations, reputation management, public affairs, direct marketing and
sponsorship.
7. Press
• The press industry is anything that is printed. Such as newspapers and magazines.
