PROJECT DETAILS
* First World Architects Studio teamed with
SFA Architects, serving as design architects
and construction documents lead, to design
this prototype K-12 new school for Cincinnati
Public Schools.
* The facility consolidated two existing school
programs, which were converted into one
program after opening. The educational
program then accommodated a student
population of 650.
* Local partners integrated program spaces
such as the public library, police, health
clinic, museum center, and a YMCA after-
school program.
* The site provided was in a flood plain, so the
facility was creatively designed to be
supported on foundation piles which are
elevated above the 100-year flood mark. This
provided for parking and play areas
underneath the building for most of the
school year.
* AIA Chapter Award
