The increasing globalization opens new ways and possibilities for business people. Nevertheless, everybody should keep in mind that it’s not only about overcoming the language barrier. Differences in the business culture, behavior or mentality can lead to conflicts, for example, during a meeting between Chinese and German business partners. To avoid sand traps when doing business with foreign companies it’s very important to get familiar with their business dos and don’ts.
Are there moments in life where you think: why did nobody invent this thing I could need now? This is your chance! Invent a product in a group and visualise it with arts and crafts. Develop a fitting business and figure out how to get a starting capital. Promote your product as well in a commercial. Afterwards you present your idea and the winner will get a prize for the best product innovation!
Geography is important when it comes to intercultural communication. In many cases even basic knowledge is missing and it comes to embarrassing situations when a business partner asks you something about a common city and you aren’t even able to say to which country it belongs, what language they speak or which cultural differences you’ll meet. Two groups of 5 people play against each other on a world map where different stations are separated in the continents. The goal is to get to know as much as possible about cultures and business and to be the first group to reach the goal pitch.
