1. 1. CLIENT REFERENCES
Dear Andy,
My comments on staff members as discussed are below. I have worked with all members on
several occasions and am currently working with both Ian and Mike.
Ian Greaves
In my view Ian is an excellent contracts manager. He has a wealth of experience and has that
vital sixth sense for construction that is required in the current market. At present subcontractors
are generally working at full capacity and getting them to site is a challenge for anyone. Ian can
anticipate the problems that may arise and that coupled with good forward planning leads to the
resource arriving where and when needed. I have probably worked with Ian on over 10 projects
and I don’t recall any that have been delivered late or with financial issues. What more do you
want? He can be a bit sharp when required but I have always enjoyed working with Ian.
Mike Judd
Mike is a quiet type of person but he has a real eye for the detail that comes from his site
background. He has been the person who had to overcome design issues such as lack of
coordination and thus he has an empathy with the site manager. Thus, he will get involved in the
design and not stand back which I find a positive contribution to the process. Design meetings
are run in an orderly fashion and I have always found Mike’s jobs to be well managed and
enjoyable. We don’t get many surprises as we know what we are to do and by when; that’s all we
as designers need to know. Fortunately I have never had to be chased for information other than
a quiet reminding word but I know that Mike can be firm when needed.
Jason Meredith
I have only worked on one major project with Jason, CBC Luton Rd - Dunstable. The site was well
managed and a lot of work was undertaken in a very quick time-scale to deliver a new motor
engineering centre for the college. Jason is a man from the tools so he knows his way round a
site and thinks like the operatives, trying to make their works easier and safer. Perhaps the biggest
compliment I can pay him is- he has common-sense and will ask when not sure. If Jason was
put on a site that I was designing I would not have any qualms that the design intent would be
followed.
I trust these comments are helpful. I am away in Portugal till Tuesday but if anyone wants to call me
to discuss my views then no problem.
My final unsolicited comment.
We work for about eight D&B contractors and if they could all be as good as ASHE then my life
would be significantly easier and relaxed.

2. To Whom It May Concern
Jason Meredith
Jason worked as site manager on our new Stansfeld Building c£2.5m last year. The quality of work
and service he provided to the College was excellent. The building itself houses some of our most
vulnerable students and Jason worked hard to engage both staff and students is the project as a hole
while still maintaining to keep to the project programme and the building did open as planned and is
loved by the students it houses. Health & Safety was also of paramount importance throughout the
project and the smooth running and the cleanliness of the site was down to Jason who in himself is
very personable.
Ian Greaves
Ian worked as contract manager on the Stansfeld Building. He was a calm and timely throughout a
highly pressured project. Ian is honest and approachable which helps greatly when dealing with a
highly complex client organisation. He actively supported Jason at all times which can sometimes be
absent in the way other Contracts Managers perform their role.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them to other clients. Hopefully in the near future they
will be back working again at Bedford College
If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.

3. Hi All,
Just a quick note to say a big thank you for all of the hard work and effort that has gone into
achieving the completion of the areas required for September. The final push next will get
the school to where they need to be by next Friday, but it is a credit to Jason and his team
to have completed so much in the amount of time that was available. We’re also really
grateful for the flexibility demonstrated to overcome any challenges encountered over the
past few weeks. We are nearly half way through the contract and what’s been achieved to
date gives every confidence in the work remaining to be completed.
Best wishes,
Lindsay

4. Happy to give a reference and you can give my details if they would like to talk to me.
Jason Meredith acted as the site manager for Ashe Construction, on an enabling project to
relocate our engineering provision from one campus to another (circa 1M sub project), as part
of a total 15M total project cost.
Jason was a very good site manager who worked to very tight time timescales with superb
results. He arrived at site and promptly undertook total control of the project to ensure that it
was delivered on time and on budget. His management style ensured that our main project could
be delivered effectively and achieve an opening deadline on program.
He is an effective communicator who develops a clear understanding of the project in hand and I
am happy to recommend him for your project.
