Location of music video
1. Location:
The main intention behind our choice of locations are to reflect our portrayal of isolation and ‘being
alone’, of which is a common theme explored through the lyrics of our song.
This helps our video to conform to Goodwin’s theory; as we create a clear relationship between
lyrics and the visuals.
Location 1: Eaton Park
Eaton Park was chosen as one of our locations as it
is local, but more importantly the audience can make
clear inferences to understand our story. One of the
main connotations to a park, is having fun. When
people think of going to the park; they think of
participating in an activity that they enjoy. This is
important to our story as this makes the narrative
clearer and helps the audience to understand our
character’s emotions.
Location 2: A bedroom
The bedroom will allow more understanding and connection from the
audience to the video. Due to how a bedroom is usually where teens mainly
find sanctuary. As well as this, a bedroom strongly connotes rest which
could contrast the actual motive of the video and song, this will create a
more dynamic product, which may challenge Goodwin’s lyric/shot theory
yet comply with it in the sense that the shots compliment the message.
Location 3: Judges Walk (long road)
Judges walk is the location of where our main character will be lip syncing. The idea of having a
long road is a clear visual representation of the ‘long road’ our characters will be enduring. This is
the only real connotation between lyric and visuals for this location.
Location 4: Turnberry estate park
This location was used purely for the connotations. The connotations
to a park are happiness and a place where people go to have fun. This
helps the audience create a visual ink with the lyrics, but also a
contrast in terms of some of the less happier lyrics.
