This is a research work given by senior lecturer Shri Adolpus M.G.D Gleekia at the university of Liberia. To discuss and get details understanding on bucket capacity, excavators, electric shovel, long ton and short ton and tonnage factors.
This research is also meant to show vivid images for the identification of essential mining equipments and their calculation aspect.

2. Bucket Capacity
The total amount of material carried by a bucket is the amount inside the bucket
plus the amount piled on top of it. This is called the Heaped or Rated Capacity. The
amount of material piled on top of the bucket (heap), is determined by the angle of
repose of the material being handled. The Society for Automotive Engineers (SAE),
for purposes of creating a standard for comparatively rating buckets, has defined
two different angles of repose:
Wheel Loader Buckets; 2:1
Hydraulic Excavator Buckets; 1:1
The dimensions of a standard bucket are about 26 x 44 29 (W x H x D), but the
same can be customized as per the requirements that you have. The size or the
shape of bucket that you choose should match with other components of the set.
Formula for calculating the volume of bucket capacity:
volume of bucket capacity = cross setional area x length
3. FRONT END LOADER
A front end loader is a large enineering vehicle used to pick up
and move biomass material into a dump truck. It is also called a
scoop loader, skip loader or bucket loader

A heavy miing equipment with a the following characteristics:
60,000 kg loading capacity
90,000 kg gross weight
48 km/h maximum speed
460 mm minimum ground clearance
30,000 kg curb mass
9079*3500*4000 over all size ( L*W*H)

5. EXCAVATOR
Excavators are popula earthmoving vehicles that feature a bucket,
arm, rotating cab and movable tracks. Excavaor perform a variety of
functions including:
digging trenches
breaking holes
lifting away waste
excavating mines
Types of excavator:
crawler excavator
wheeled excavator
suction excavator
long reach excavator
hydraulic excavator
7. ELECTRIC SHOVEL
A power shovel or electric mining shovel used for digging and
loading earth or fragmented rock and for mineral extaction. It gives
optimal turns and keeps the operator from a safe distance to the
excavation site.

8. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LONG TON AND SHORT TON
The difference between long ton and short ton is that: The long ton
which is the british ton is equal to 2,240 lbs. while the short ton
which is the US ton is equal to 2,000 lbs.
short ton: 1 ton = 2,000 lbs.
long ton: 1 ton = 2,240 lbs.
9. TONNAGE FACTOR
The tonnage factor provides the mechanism for the conversion from
volume of ore to weiht of ore. In the english system, the tonnage
factor is expressed s cubic feet per ton of ore. In the metric system,
the tonnage factor is the specific garvity of the ore.
