In this screenshot, we can see a clear over view of the scene and where its going to be
set, this carries on for quite a while when the credits are being revealed (so is the
location). The Mise-En-Scene of tall looking buildings makes the scene look realistic
and set in a modern place. The lens flair also makes it look more modern and has a
contemporary impact towards the opening sequence. The high medium shot angle
helps use see throughout the entire city.
This shot, from a high angle looking down on the train is helping the target audience
understand where the story is set and what is around it. It’s a closer in shot of the town
than the first one which is then also helping us understand where the location is.
2. The lens flair on this makes it look contemporary and modern and the high angle shot
which this is presented suggests to us that they want the audience to look at the entire
scene and what the town is like and from this angle it looks pretty busy.
This is the first character we see in the film and conveniently it’s a close up shot of
him laying on the window. This shot is good because we don't get given much about
him and we still don't know who he is until someone else actually introduces him.
This close up of the first character suddenly on our screens has an impacts towards the
audience as it shocks them with a sudden close up after lots of long shots of the town.
Also the music/sound throughout the film fades and there isn't any. The sounds get
3. louder and more exaggerated within this scene on the train to let us think that we are
listening to the sounds through his head after just waking up and their there for
inflicting suspense and tension to make the audience jump.
This shot is of tea on his shoe, however as the target audience we can sense what he is
thinking and as he wakes up he thinks an opening of a can is a gunshot and the tea is
blood so that we as the target audience think its blood from this point of view swell
suggest that we are connecting with the character within the first 5 minutes of him
being introduced. This camera angle is an appropriate camera angle to have as-well as
its form his POV which suggest that we are seeing what he is seeing and this connects
us with the characters more.
This shot of the two characters symmetrically lets us introduce them by ourselves and
see the connection between them and therefore assume that they are a couple or very
close friends. The mid-close up also lets us see emotion throughout the characters.
