college lifestyle,are youcentredtowards?',itwas a combinationof Education,Music,Fashionand
Social,buta majorityfavouredmusic.A majority,decidedthattheyweren'tpreparedtopaylittle to
no moneyforthe magazine (free-£1.50).Most studentssaidthattheywere more likelytoread
shorterarticlesasoppose to longarticles,however,theysaidtheywouldreadlongerarticles
dependingonwhatthe article wasabout.Theyalsofavouredadisplayof imagesratherthanplain
textto livenarticlesup,makingitmore enticing. Mostof the studentsIaskedwere notcurrently
subscribedtoa mainstreammagazine andsoitmade it harderfor me to gain a betterunderstanding
of popularteenage interests.Whenasked,'Whatcontentdoyouexpecttosee featuredinacollege
magazine?',mostrespondedwithupdatesoncollegeeventsandcompetitionsaswell aslocal bands
and careerpaths.About80% of studentsaskedsaidtheywouldprefertoaccesstheirmagazine via
printmediaas itgave thema closer,personal relationshipwiththe magazine content.Moststudents
saidthat theyweren'tinterestedininvolvingthemselvesinanycompetitionsorevents,however,
theywouldlike toif the eventshownappealedtothem.Finally,studentsaskedfoundthatthe front
coverof a magazine wasmostappealingfromthe use of large text,imagesandcolour.Overall,this
feedbackhasenabledme toestablisharoughideaas to what contentshouldbe featuredinmy
magazine inorderto attract a broadaudience.
