2. In the process of researching, producing and
evaluating my product I used a range of
software and hardware including, Adobe
Photoshop, Google, iPhone, Prezi and Reaper.
3. Using Google, I could easily research newspapers. I
could find images of both front and second pages and
could then use these images to spot similar themes and
conventions between all newspapers. I was then able
to use these as inspiration for when I made my own
product.
4. Using Google also helped in aiding me to learn how to
use certain features on Adobe Photoshop, for example I
had to search how to make the text stay in straight
columns. This was useful as Photoshop is usually used as
an image based manipulation software and there wasn't
much information on how to manipulate text. I used
Photoshop to create both my first and second page - I
imported images which I had taken on an iPhone camera
and could use Photoshop to manipulate them to look the
way I wanted. I found this useful because not many other
software's manipulate images as easily and
straightforwardly as Photoshop does.
5. I also used an iPhone camera because it takes professional
looking images and is also easy to use. Using this camera and this
software to edit the images was useful because it saved a lot of
time as everything was straight forward.
Using Photoshop was good for my image manipulation as I
could resize the images without pixelating them. I could also
use tools such as the eye dropper to ensure that the same
colours were used, so my newspaper stuck to a same colour
scheme - helping with uniformity of the house style.
6. I produced my radio advertisement using reaper, this was useful
in being able to add sound clips for the backing track of the
advert. This sound clip then had to be uploaded onto a software
called Soundcloud - from there I could embed the radio
advertisement onto my blog page.
7. I used the software Prezi to upload two of my evaluation
questions and to embed it onto my blog. I used the online
blogging site 'blogger' to upload my work. I found this website
easy to use and a less complicated way of keeping all my work
together. It was used to show the process of my work from the
early research stages to the final evaluation stages and allowed
me to keep a work diary to know where I was up to and what I
had to be doing next.
