2. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
• This presentation is a result of dedicated effort. It gives
us immense pleasure to prepare this presentation on
“OUR ENVIRONMENT”
• We would like to thank our guides MR KL SRIVASTAVA,
MISS RUMSHA KHAN and MR ANCHAL SRIVASTAVA
for consultative help and constructive suggestions on the
matter in this presentation. We would like to thank our
parents and our colleagues who have helped us in
making this presentation a successful one .

4. ENVIRONMENT
• The natural environment encompasses
all living and non-living things
occurring naturally. The term is most often
applied to the Earth or some part of Earth.
This environment encompasses the
interaction of all living species, climate,
weather, and natural resources that affect
human survival and economic activity.
5. BIODEGRADABLE
• a substance or object capable of being decomposed by bacteria or
other living organisms and thereby avoiding pollution.
6. NON- BIODEGRADABLE
• Non-biodegradable waste is a type of waste that can not be broken
down into its base compounds by micro-organisms, air, moisture or
soil in a reasonable amount of time.
7. EFFECTS OF DUMPING
WASTES TO ENVIRONMENT
• Surface water contamination
• Soil contamination
• Pollution
• Leachate
• Economic Effects:
• Municipal wellbeing
• Recycling revenue
8. ECOSYSTEM
• An ecosystem is a community of living organisms in conjunction with
the nonliving components of their environment (things like air, water
and mineral soil), interacting as a system
9. FOOD CHAIN
• a food chain represents a series of events in which food and energy are
transferred from one organism in an ecosystem to another. Food chains
show how energy is passed from the sun to producers, from producers to
consumers, and from consumers to decomposers. They also show how
animals depend on other organisms for food
10. FOOD WEB
• A food web (or food cycle) is the natural interconnection of food chains and
a graphical representation (usually an image) of what-eats-what in an
ecological community. Another name for food web is a consumer-resource
system.
11. HUMAN ACTIVITIES
AFFECTING ENVIRONMENT
• Polluting
• Non-Veg diet
• Technology
• Deforestation
• Excess usage of commodities
• Wastage of resources: water, power, petroleum etc
13. OZONE LAYER
• The ozone layer or ozone shield is a region of Earth's stratosphere that
absorbs most of the Sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation. It contains high
concentrations of ozone (O3) in relation to other parts of the atmosphere,
although still small in relation to other gases in the stratosphere.
15. OZONE LAYER DEPLETION
• Ozone depletion describes two distinct but related phenomena observed
since the late 1970s: a steady decline of about four percent in the total
amount of ozone in Earth's stratosphere (the ozone layer), and a much
larger springtime decrease in stratospheric ozone around Earth's polar
regions.
16. HUMAN WASTE
MANAGEMENT
• Waste management or Waste disposal is all the activities and
actions required to manage waste from its inception to its final
disposal.[1] This includes amongst other things, collection, transport,
treatment and disposal of waste together with monitoring and
regulation. It also encompasses the legal and regulatory framework
that relates to waste management encompassing guidance on
recycling etc.
