• Imagine being an outsider
• FINALLY ACCEPTED?
• OR A CRUEL JOKE!
• A party filled with young teenagers goes horribly wrong.
• Filled with drinks and drugs
• A film teaching that actions have consequences and some are
unfixable.
4. Surviving The Seshhh
• Genre: Teen Thriller with aspects of crime.
• Has a lot of mystery. Thriller is normally filled with suspense and
anxiety- it builds at the party
• Teen drama is normally filled with upset and impactful moments
surrounding the life of one young person
• This particular party is crawling in acts of crime, where we see
teenagers going beyond their limits.
7. Key Characters
• Nadia- The protagonist, The vulnerable girl who gets tricked into
thinking she has been accepted.
Quiet girl that want to be accepted and feels left out most of the time.
She seems to be hard working but doesn’t get the grades that she
should be getting.
Filled with insecurities. She keeps herself to herself.
• Alexa- antagonist? Or just another victim? Bullies are usually bullied
themselves.
She is seen as the mean girl and feels the pressure of beauty standards,
she surrounds her self with people who are not really her friends, and
picks on Nadia to make herself feel better. She is far from being a
complete sinner but she still plays a big part in the disastrous events
which occur.
8. Teaser trailer-
• We will hear a voice over a statement being red out- describing the events of
the party.
• It will then jump back to the day before where we will see Alexa inviting
Nadia to this party
• This will them jump to the party scene, where the audience is exposed to
various illegal actions mainly regarding drugs
• A hand held camera will follow different characters around the party, making
the trailer feel more realistic, allowing the audience to feel as though they
are at the party.
• We will then see Nadia arriving to the party.
• We see someone put something in a drink, (someone hidden from the
audience)
• This is then handed to Nadia where we see her drink it
• The last shot we see Nadia on the floor, where someone is checking a
pulse.
9. The main plot-
• The main narrative revolves around the character of Nadia, throughout the film
the audience follows her daily life, where they are exposed to the way she is
treated by her peers, in particular Alexa's group. Who constantly give her a
hard time. But things seem to be getting better, Alexa's minions are no longer
giving her abuse in the school corridors. In fact Alexa herself seems to want to
be friends with Nadia, even inviting her to the most anticipated party of the
year. Before this night the lives of all the characters were smooth running in
comparison to the twisted action which take place that evening
• Nadia initially has doubt regarding the party but in the end decides she needs
to step out of her comfort zone.
• Getting to the party alone, she feels brave and starts mixing with various
people,
• Trying new things for the first time, peer pressure gets the better of her.
• She is offered a drink from Alexa
• One which has been spiked
• Nadia reacts badly to the drug, and is rushed to hospital and later dies.
• Everyone assumes it is Alexa, as she handed Nadia the drink
• An investigation is opened where many people at the party leave statements,
from the people who turned up uninvited to the people who organized the
party,
• There is one person that no one saw the whole night, one person who has it
out for Alexa...
• The puppet master, holding something over Alexa making her do these things.
• Someone online, Alexa herself has no idea who.
• The main plot revolves around a "who done it" scenario.
• We later find out what Alexa has been hiding, and though Nadia has died she
gets the justice which she deserves
10. Poster and magazine cover idea-
• While thinking and brainstorming our poster and magazine cover ideas, we
sketched out some ideas in what ways would present our genre the best and link
well to the trailer.
• We wanted to incorporate the danger in the party elements of our poster.
• While drawing out our poster we came up with the tagline of 'one more shot'.
• Our final design idea for the poster, is our title in bold in a box with a line of shots
filled with red liquid on top of the box and in between each shot there is a letter all
together spelling out ' one more shot' and above the box you see Alexa and
Nadia's faces cut off under the eyes. We would use red, black, and white as our
colour scheme.
• For our magazine cover we would use a similar design, using full body shots and
the same colour scheme.
11. Target audience-
• As the teaser trailer we are making is a teen thriller,
our main target audience will be teenagers. We
were thinking of having a BBFC classification of 15,
which would mean that our target audience can't be
any younger than this.
• The main age range that we would be targeting is
15-22, as this is an age range that is similar to the
characters in our trailer and may be able to relate
to some aspects of our storyline.
• The main characters in our film are girls, so
therefore we feel as though we may attract girls
more than we would boys, although it is aimed at
both.
• Most of the other trailers that we have been looking
at have an age rating of 15 and also have a similar
target audience to what we have chosen.
12. The importance
• Targets 15 years and older Sends a message to the
audience to:
• be safe
• actions have consequences
• reaches out to victims
• Different to teen thrillers out there, added aspects of crime
• Current- use of social medias
Editor's Notes
For the first time the main character Nadia gets invited to a party which is supposed to be the biggest event of the year. Obviously she will be very excited and happy that she has been noticed by the popular group in the school. An invitation which may seem like an innocent act, turns into horrible and immoral night. Teenager are already seen to be out of control, but this film will demonstrate another level of disgraceful behavior.
Surviving the Seshhh is a mixture of the two films Tormented and Unfriended with an original twist.
Play trailers
Unfriended : online age of a girl that is extremely affected by a video that was posted of her online. Where her supposed friends suffer the consequences.
Tormented: We see aspects of the party and how a high school environment can single individuals out in both cases we can see the two films take what was meant to be a prank too far. Both trailers show the acts of bullying which we have incorporated in our film as well
Description of both teen drama and thriller!
Thriller normally involves suspense, tension , can be confusing sometimes , a battle between the protagonist and the antagonist, disruption in the equilibrium
Teen drama involves upset, impactful moment featuring the underdog ie Nadia , often a story where the main character is coming of age
One of the main themes that we would like to explore is drugs and drink which is a crime that isn't spoken about enough, hence why we would love to show case this in front of an audience.
Th impact that this film will have will teach young people of the importance of drinking and safety. This wont only entertain the audience but also educate.
The film is going to be branded on the basis of drugs and alcohol, themes which many teenagers can relate to in this day and age.
We will promote it as a party invitation to draw in a young audience, this will make them feel apart of the action, including them in the events, perhaps making them feel as though they to are partially responsible for the fate of Nadia.
We will emphasize the impact of drinking by repeatedly showing the typical red cup we see at these teen parties
We will be promoting the stereotype of a world where teenagers are out of control
Where we see this idea of a social hierarchy
To conform or not to conform?
Teenagers following and copying there friends even when they know it isn't right.
Fitting into society and learning to become an adult
These two are the main characters which we see in the trailer, however we there is another mystery character to whom we won't reveal to the audience. This builds tension and leaves them wanting to find out more. The aim throughout the film is to build everything up slowly and have all the bad things happen at once
Elaborate, discuss in more detail, e.g different themes, timings, editing (snapchat)and music
