1. ISLAM AND MODERN SCIENCE
Meaning of the word “Samaa” (sky)
And the reality of seven skies
Samaa: In urdu, it means “sky”
But in Arabic, every high thing is called samaa.
• For eg: the atmosphere, clouds, gases, etc surrounding the
Earth are also considered as samaa.
• The word samaa is used 310 times in the Holy Quran.
• This word has several meanings that are used in Quran
(clouds, atmosphere, gas, sky and it’s layers, rain)
2. • In the Holy Quran, the word samaa is firstly used as in the meaning
of clouds (in the introductory verses of Surah Al Baqarah).
• The Quranic word samaa is elaborated in different meanings in the
Holy Quran and is explained below:
Clouds: Samaa, used in relation with rain, means clouds.
The atmosphere of the clouds: Often times, the word samaa is used for
atmosphere of the clouds, such as in Surah Noor: verse no. 43.
Rain: Samaa is also used as in the meaning of rain, such as in Surah
An’aam and Surah Hud.
3. Atmosphere: In Quran, the layer of atmosphere in which birds fly ( in
other meaning: atmospheric layer in which flying organisms exist) is also
considered as samaa.
Shelter/Rooftops/Cover: Any high point, level or figure is considered as
samaa in Quran.
Sky (parallel universe) : Sky is considered as something physical and
materialistic in some people’s view. People think of it as some physical
plates surrounding the Earth. Reality is totally opposite to that. The sky,
we think of something materialistic, is just a gaseous state.
4. Initially, it was all just a smoke.
Samaa was divided into seven layers/plates (seven skies).
By seven, it may refer to the exact quantity or a few
Moon, Sun, Stars, etc exist in the first layer of the sky. They
orbit about the Earth.
5. All this information was reference from
Quran. Represented next is the scientific
evidence that testify the events
mentioned in Quran
6. SCIENTIFIC INTERPRETATION OF THE SEVEN HEAVENS
The seven heavens have been explained well by researchs. The same
explaination was given more accurately in the book of the Holy Quran
__________________________________________________________
According to a turkish scientist, there’s a magnetic force that enable
the heavenly bodies to stay in their respective spots.
The first layer of the sky is fixed in it’s place due to the magnetic force
expelled by the Sun and Moon.
The second layer of the sky is made up of Milky Way.
The third layer of the sky contains clusters of stars.
7. The fourth layer of the sky is the central magnetic plate.
The fifth layer of the sky is made up of quasars.
The sixth layer of the sky has all the objects reversing and reversely
performing their activities.
The seventh sky is spreaded infinitely and is unapproachable by man.
__________________________________________________________
Man requires billions and trillions of years (approximately milleniums of
light years) to travel from one layer of the sky to another. To travel such
huge distances, man needs the speed of light but it’s impossible due to
no control over magnetism.Hence materialistic bodies cannot travel
such huge distances (only our spirits can)
__________________________________________________________
8. Lastly, it is also said that man cannot travel huge distances due to their
infinite length. It is impossible for us to travel such distances. It’s
useless to debate on such a topic.
