Trekking and Adventure
Conclusion
 Malana is a small village located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh,
India. It is situated at an altitude of around 2,700 meters above sea level and is
known for its production of high-quality hashish.
 The village is isolated from the rest of the world and has its own set of customs
and traditions. The people of Malana believe that they are descendants of
Alexander the Great and have their own language, Kanashi, which is different
from the rest of the region.
INTODUCTION
 Malana has a rich history dating back to the 2nd century BC. It was a major
trading center on the ancient Silk Route and was ruled by various dynasties over
the centuries.
In the 17th century, Malana came under the rule of the Kullu Kingdom. However,
the people of Malana resisted the influence of the outside world and maintained
their own customs and traditions.
HISTORY
CULTURE
The people of Malana have a unique culture and way of life. They follow
their own set of customs and beliefs and do not mix with outsiders. They
consider themselves to be superior to other people and do not allow
outsiders to touch anything in the village.
The village has its own democratic system of governance and the decisions
are taken by a council of elders. The people of Malana are also known for
their weaving skills and produce high-quality woolen shawls and blankets.
HASHISH PRODUCTION
 Malana is famous for its production of high-quality hashish, also known as
Malana Cream. The cannabis plants grown in the region are believed to have
originated from the Parvati Valley and are considered to be some of the best in
the world.
 The production of hashish is illegal in India, but it is still widely produced and
sold in Malana. The village has become a popular destination for tourists who
come to experience the local culture and try the famous Malana Cream.
TREKKING AND ADVENTURE
 Apart from its unique culture and hashish production, Malana is also known
for its trekking trails and adventure activities. The village is surrounded by
snow-capped mountains and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas.
 There are several trekking routes that start from Malana, including the
Chandrakhani Pass Trek and the Malana - Chandrakhani Pass Trek. These
treks offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
CONCLUSION
 Malana is a unique village that offers a glimpse into a way of life that is vastly
different from the rest of the world. Its isolation and distinct culture make it a
fascinating destination for travellers who are looking for something off the
beaten path.
 From its rich history and unique culture to its stunning natural beauty and
adventure activities, Malana has something for everyone. However, it is
important to respect the local customs and traditions and not contribute to the
illegal production and sale of hashish.
