4. Decomposition reaction
• The reaction in which compound breaks down into two or more simpler
substance is known as decomposition reaction.
Types of decomposition reaction……
1. Thermal decomposition ( By heat )

3. Electrolytic decomposition ( By electricity )

5. Displacement reaction
• The reaction in which more reactive element displaces the less reactive
element from the solution is termed as displacement reaction
EXAMPLES :

6. Double Displacement Reaction
• The reaction in which two compound react to form other compound by
mutual exchange of atom is termed as Double Displacement Reaction.
• This reaction are also termed as partner exchange reaction.
EXAMPLES :

7. Redox reaction
• The reaction in which oxidation and reduction takes place simultaneously is
termed as redox reaction.
OXIDATION
• Addition of oxygen.
• Removel of hydrogen
