CONSTRUCTION PROCESS -4
Points for Excavation but not limited to
A. Pre-Excavation –
• Re-locate all utilities pipe line.
• Repair all surface drains around the excavation area. When heavy rainfall is occurred the surface
drain will be collapsed due to heavy pressure runoff water which may cause the tilting the
shorepile.
• Complete top tie beam over the shore pile as per design*
• Fix the grid lines and level in layout. Level should be fixed from existing road level.
• Arrange all bracing materials and fabrication team as per instruction of consultant *
• Preparation an excavation methodology for safe implementation of excavation
• Preparing the site contour map before starting earth excavation.
• Identify and measure distance of adjacent water body of the site.
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS -4
Points for Excavation but not limited to
B. Excavation
• Prepare a travelling ramp for removing of dump truck
• Excavate the earth in a layer by layer (maximum layer 5ft) manner
• Close observation on shore pile alignment, seepage, toppling, earth wearing down etc.
• Erect the bracing as per design in recommended level
• Excavation should speed up and complete concrete as short as possible time.
• Pumping or bailing out water keeping the excavation free of water
• Placing concrete with wire mesh in between the gap of two consecutive piles to protect
horizontal seepage.
• Doing the pipe network and sump pit to collect the horizontal seepage water from different
location to a definite sump pit.
• Report any kind mismatching of works from the plan
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS - 6
Points for Bracing but not limited to
• Bracing Size and quality. Must be straight and no reduced thickness due to rusting
• Bracing Levels should be according to slab level so that can be remove easily after slab casting
