1) At Jessop & Co. Ltd. –
Had handled standardization program of crane & hoist gear boxes in collaboration
with CCJT (Clark Chapman & John Thompson, U.K.)
2) At Metal Box India Ltd., --
a) Had worked jointly with UKAEA (Harwell) for the development of a Liquid
Piston Engine in association with Dr. C. D. West who was working at Harwell
then.
2. b) Introduced high-speed Body Maker line of can size 404 in tandem with Body
Maker ABM-400 (Swiss Make).
c) Had been to Bangladesh for restructuring of production line at Metal Box,
Bangladesh.
d) Introduced dual-fuel burner (Kerosene & LPG) system in tin plate drying oven.
3) At Standard Utility Products Ltd., --
The unit was running at a loss. Careful study revealed a bottle-neck at the end of
press operation and at the beginning of painting/finishing/assembly line.
Painting/finishing/assembly line was under-capacitated than the press
production line. Action initiated to operate painting/finishing line in 2-shifts while
press shop operating in a single (general) shift. Magical production output
appeared, increasing the production figure to 4-times than before. Later on,
management accepted my proposal of de-bottlenecking by investing fund for
additional capacity in painting/finishing line. This finally resulted in 10-fold
increase in production capacity operating in 3-shifts. At this end, the steel sheet
consumption rose to 1000 MT/3-month.
4) At IFB Industries Ltd. –
Developed CNC based Mitre-Cut Line used in manufacture of power transformers
E&I configurations (CRGO sheet width – 600 mm) for GEC India (a subsidiary of
General Electric – USA). On final stage, the production capacity reached 60
MT/month against initial designed/planned capacity of 20 MT/month.
5) At Crown Paper Converters Pvt. Ltd. –
It had been a green-field project starting from procuring land/building factory
shed/installation of equipments/recruitment of workers &
training/production/marketing. The equipments were procured from Fabio-
Perinni of Italy and Can Go Company of Taiwan. Visited Taiwan twice, for
finalizing the equipments and witnessing production trial for a pre-shipment
condition. The product range introduced was facial tissues, toilet rolls, napkins
(printed & plain, both embossed), kitchen roll and hand towels.
6) Patton International Ltd. –
Set up a 100% export-oriented unit for the production of EMT/Rigid Fittings
production line. Today the convertion capacity is 60 MT/day and the house
employed about 1500 staffs all inclusive. A few buyers to name, are Thomas &
Betts, Crouse-Hinds & Cooper, RACO, EGS, Bridgeport, etc. Capable of setting up
EMT fittings production line at any instance of requirement extended.
