2. Olmec
This artifact was made by the Olmec and was discovered
in Southern Mexico. Its approximate date of origin is
between 1200 and 400 BCE. You can tell that this is from
the Olmec because the Olmec had a very advanced
organizational structure and the carvings in this piece are
very well done and very beautiful work. It’s believed that
these stone carvings stood for the Olmec rullers, for they
were carvings of them.
3. Zapotec
These pyramids were made by the Zapotec. They were
found in South Mexico, in modern Mexico state of Oaxaca.
The approximate date of origin is between 300 and 900
CE. IT is made from the Zapotec’s because in the city
located in Monte Alban, it included pyramids and
elaborate tombs. It was part of a city and was used for
different things.
4. Chavin
This artifact was made by the Chavin. It was made in
Modern Peru. The approximate date of origin is
between 900 and 200 BCE. This rtifact was made by
them because human and animal heads are common
motif in Chavin art. This artifact shows a cat. They
were used for the ruins of temples.
