4. Introductionofshavingcream-
Shaving cream or shaving foam is a cream
applied to the face, or wherever else hair grows,
to facilitate shaving. The use of cream achieves
three effects: lubricates the cutting process;
swells keratin; and desensitizes skin. Shaving
creams commonly consist of an emulsion of
oils, soaps or surfactants, and water.
5. Historyofshavingcream-
A rudimentary form of shaving cream was documented in Some
where around 3000 BC. This substance combined wood alkali and
animal fat and was applied to a beard as a shaving preparation.
Until the early 20th century, bars or sticks of hard shaving soap were
used. Later, tubes containing compounds of oils and soft soap were
sold. Newer creams introduced in the 1940s neither produced lather
nor required brushes, often referred to as brushless creams.

12. Preparation procedure-
Firstly Cetyl alcohol, polysorbate-60, cetearyl octanoate, laneth-40, lauryl
pyrrolidone and polyvinylpyrrolidone were mixed and heated to 65-70°C.
Then this mixture was added to the cetrimonium chloride and half of the
deionized water (70°C), followed by mixing until all of the ethanol was
evaporated.
Then the resulting mixture was added to the remaining half of the deionized
water (cold), EDTA, sorbitol, urea titanium dioxide, coco amido betaine,
triethanolamine and lactic acid. The cold deionized water, sorbitol and
EDTA were premixed, as were the triethanolamine and lactic acid.
Then Phenoxyethanol and methyl/ethyl parabens were added to the
mixture, which was cooled to 40°C, followed by the addition of the tea tree
and lavender oils.

16. Consumer VOICE tests results-
Consumer VOICE tests of 10 brands of shaving creams reveal
all is well with the products in terms of quality, but we cannot
say the same about the quantity. Six out of ten brands were
found to be underweight — some by a small margin, some by
many grams. Where ABD 360⁰ ® surprisingly and pleasantly,
was over-weight. Its 105 gm tube giving out 105.73 gm of
cream.

(per gram cost – Tk. 6.3 BDT), and Old Spice and
Park Avenue (both of which have per gram cost of
