Position: Joint Director - Directorate of Operations Transport & Helicopters (One year)
Responsibilities:
 Responsible for the induction, development and operationalisation of the largest Fleet of
aircraft (150 +) of IAF.
 Assigning and Controlling Helicopter Operations of the entire IAF to meet the requirements of
various Ministries, State Govts, Embassies and Agencies, besides control and monitoring of
planned tasks.
 Successfully led, coordinated and executed multiple Human Assistance & Disaster Relief
Operations on International/ National scale, both at field level and as Coordinating member at
Air Head Quarter.
 Ensuring optimum utilisation of all available Aviation resources to effect smooth operations,
both critical and routine.
 Formulating, Managing and implementing policies for strategic life cycle management and
development of the fleet.
 Coordinating with the Russian OEM as part of the Project Monitoring Team for the induction
to effect design improvements and contract management for product support.
 Oversee contract implementation of the Simulator for IAF under the B-O-M concept.
Position: Commanding Officer (Two years)
Responsibilities:
 Raised and Commanded a premiere Helicopter unit. This involved leading a team of 300+
personnel including Aircrew, Technicians and Administrative staff with direct control of
Operations and Maintenance of aviation assets worth Rs 1300 Crores besides establishing the
Operational, Maintenance and Administrative infrastructure. Responsible for planning and
developing the entire operational, maintenance and admin infrastructure of the unit which
included:
 Setting up the aviation infrastructure for the unit (Operational /Technical).
 Leading and motivating a teamof specialist professionals to train, consolidate and eventually
conduct independent operations.
 Leading the team in executing critical operations at international / national levels through
personal example.
 Direct Appraisal and evaluation and career planning of 27 Officers every year besides
appraisal of gen admin and support staff.
 Recommending changes to existing policies and Ops/Maint / HR policies based on experience
gained in implementation at field level.
Position: Flight Commander –Operational / Training Units (Four years)
Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading a team of 80–100 personnel for day to day functioning of the entire unit for:
 Preparation, planning and monitoring of training, development and progress of up to 21
officers and trainees.
 Preparation, Execution and monitoring of operational plans / Training tasks.
 Completion of tasks within the available constraints and time through optimal utilisation of
resources.
Position: Flight Commander –Operational / Training Units (Contd) (Four years)
Responsibilities:
 Training and Development of team through effective execution of processes to meet the
requirements of the Training schedule.
 Direct Appraisal and evaluation and career planning of 21 Officers every year besides
appraisal of gen admin and support staff.
 Preparation, Execution and monitoring of Flying Training task through matching of available
resources, including up to 30 aircraft on a daily basis, to effect completion of task in
accordance with the time bound Training schedule.
Position: Air Liaison Officer (UN Peace Keeping Mission – DRC) (One year)
Responsibilities:
Responsible for conduct of Air operations under the aegis of UN peace keeping mission
through coordination with participating nations, under adverse circumstances.
 Coordinate on all issues relating to operations as a representative of the Indian Aviation
contingent at an international forum.
Position: Qualified Flying Instructor (Four years)
Responsibilities:
 Responsible for hands on supervision, training and development of ab initio aviation
trainees.
 Plan and progress training through regular monitoring of the trainees / schedule.
 1000 + hrs of instructional flying for ab-initio trainees on both fixed wing aircraft and
helicopters as well as conduct of flying training in operational roles ( including NVG
Operations) on Helicopters.
