Introducing Heartstrings Community Foundation. A non-traditional day service for adults with developmental disabilities who choose to work in the community.
Heartstrings Community Foundation was established as a non-profit organization in 1999, beginning services in 2001. A non-traditional approach was designed to provide interactive employment and true participation in the community.

Heartstrings offers real employment in the community, either in the HCF businesses or in other interactive employment in the community.
Heartstrings employees must met high expectations. For success in the community each employee must be well groomed, wear neat & clean clothing or uniforms, conduct their business in a friendly way, and accomplish their assigned jobs accurately in the allotted time.
Each employee at Heartstrings is encouraged to build on their skills. The support & training is ongoing to ensure successful employment. Setting new goals & working to achiever them is encouraged.
People w/developmental disabilities who choose Heartstrings for Day Service are considered valuable employees. They are offered opportunities and employment in the real business world- not a workshop.Building skills & a productive lifestyle through successful employment & volunteerism.
Working in the business world is an entirely new experience for almost all of the Heartstrings employees. The opportunities this employment provides changes their world as it also changes the world around them. People meeting people they never would have known. Our employees are experiencing new diverse settings & activities, while increasing their awareness of the surrounding community.
