applications are used for
prediction.
⊸ Decision makers need to know
the past and present trends to
predict the future.
Analytics Predictions:
⊸ Netflix gives personalized recommendations
to users based on their interests.
⊸ Accuracy of the predicting algorithm was 0.9
⊸ The average prediction of how a viewer
would rate a film improved by less than 0.1
star after a major competition.
Analytics Predictions:
⊸ Marketing analytics tries to give
related ads to the customer.
⊸ Todays best targeting prediction
has an accuracy of 1.4%
Limitations:
⊸ Randomness in the human
behavior is the limiting factor.
⊸ Breakthroughs will be elusive as
long as human behavior remains
inconsistent, impulsive, dynamic
and subtle.
⊸ Major companies like google,
facebook, linkedin, Twitter use
big data tools and analytics to
grow their business.
⊸ Applications of analytics will
have huge impact in the coming
years.
⊸ Human behavior is an
inconsistent variable which
hinders the predictions accuracy.
