science developed over 3,000
years ago in China. It is a
complex body of knowledge
that teaches us how to balance
the energies in any given space-

good fortune for the people
inhabiting it.
5. The ancient Chinese believed that the
energy of a specific land.
The Taoist theory of yin and yang, for
example, is essential to Feng Shui.
It helps us examine the balance of the
feminine (Yin) and the masculine (Yang) in
our lives to maintain a good flow of Chi.
Where yin and yang are two opposite
energies that are needed and
complemented, the existence of one
depends on the existence of the other.
The yin and yang is a symbol of harmony
due to the balance produced by the
interaction of the two energies.

bathroom or an open hallway.
Close the door to any bathroom that is
adjacent to the bedroom.

How would you fix the bed in your room to rest
better?
What happens if the chi in your bedroom is depressed
or too active?
Reflective questions to the
audience
11. As a primordial condition, energy needs ordered
and cleared spaces to flow freely and in a controlled
manner. Chi does not move randomly within a
building, but in a certain way. The Chi moves in a
very similar way to the air that circulates around us;
Its flow and the direction it takes depends on the
objects and the forms it finds in its path.
