You never know what the future will bring
Being a journalist is talking to people from all walks of life around the world. Why does a person
decide to be a journalist? What do you learn being a journalist? What is learned by interacting
with different cultures? Do you know how to adapt to the cultures of other countries? You never
know what the future will hold for you.
Making a friend is something special, everyone wants to feel valued an accepted, and we believe
that this should happen spontaneously, but it doesn´t. When you are different, you have to work
on belonging. You have to be really helpful, smart, funny… for people to want to spend time
with you. We want to be popular, have a good group of friends, a good partner, stand out from
the crowd. Elements that are not achieved with shyness.
Sometimes, we are not aware that we are making the other person feel bad, apart, out of place.
At times, we can be consumed by our own selfishness and unable to put ourselves in another´s
shoes. When we label someone as different, they are dehumanized in a certain way. He becomes
the “other”. They are not worth our time, they are not our problem, and, in fact, “the other” is
probably the cause of our problems.
