OBJECTIVES
To follow-up on my career as an accomplished marketing consultant with an
extensive background in copy-writing and editing, I have ventured in
pastry/bakery arts looking to fulfill my long-term goal of managing my own
business.
This year, I have dedicated my time and efforts to honing my skills by enrolling in
ISCAHM Cebu. With their assistance, I am seeking to undergo on-the-job
training in actual kitchen operations in the Philippine hotel/restaurant industry
where the principles of pastry/bakery arts and kitchen management can be
applied and, to interact and learn from experienced chefs.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Xlibris 03/15 – 04/16
Marketing Consultant
• Utilized the marketing services available (New York Times, Google
Services, Reader’s Digest, London Review of Books, etc.) to amplify our
author’s publicity in the literary market.
• Conversed with numerous authors over the phone, visualizing and
discussing strategy with the best action to take in publicizing their
literature.
• Worked in the UK market, which is known for its very calculated authors
who are not prone to making financial decisions hastily.
• Additionally, also tasked with reporting call counts and call metrics for the
team I was working with.
Y101 FM 01/14 – 03/15
Writer/Sales/Events/Marketing for Online Content
• Managed and spearheaded online content for Y101, in charge of creating
interesting and informative articles about Cebu and places all over the
Philippines from restaurants, best vacation spots, hotel reviews and
current events.
• Also managed the sales aspect of the website, meeting with clients and
sold “spots” on the website for advertising. This included featured articles
2. about said client, banners, video blogs, commercials, and hosting their
upcoming events.
• Attended company events and conducted face-to-face interviews with the
owners or event coordinators helping to spread the word out not only
through radio but through the internet as well.
• Handled social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram,
delivering round the clock news on what songs are currently playing, new
songs from Top 40, artists to look out for and what’s going on around
Cebu.
• Worked remotely from home with exception of the weekly Web team
meetings.
Moonrocks International 01/12 - 12/13
Creative Copywriter
• Employed as the Head Creative Copywriter for Moonrocks which handled
advertising content for a wide range of companies ranging from medical
clients, fast food, sports, and dealt with brand or product launching,
rebranding, company profile all the way to generic advertising.
• For a small company, we were all trained and tested in copywriting,
editorial, marketing and strategic advertising to accommodate for the lack
of employees. This process enabled me to learn so much about each role.
• Worked under a team concept, with each individual bringing what they can
to the table to create smart yet quirky ads that catch the consumer’s
attention right from the get go. We believed that copywriting can be just as
eye-catching as the graphics if positioned correctly.
ESL Instructor (Part-time)
Ortigas, Manila
• Employed as an ESL Instructor for Korean families, teaching primary to
secondary levels of English, Math and Science to children and
adolescents.
• My first job at a collegiate level, no experience whatsoever but took a shot
at teaching basic English which I found to be as fun as rewarding since it
gave me a chance to brush up on the English language basics such as
grammar, sentence construction, intonation, and teaching kids between 3
to 7 years old was just the right age group for me to start off my
professional career.
