membranes is a
narrow space
called
periplastidial
space.
STROMA
• Living matrix or
ground substance
of chloroplast.
• Contains
ribosomes,
circular naked
DNA and
phosphoglobules
and other organic
substances.
THYLAKOIDS
• Flattened,
membranous sac-
like structures
lying in the
stroma.
• Present like piles
of coins called
grana.
• Grana are
connected each
other by stroma
lamellae or frets.
