The Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Evam Vikas Yojna has set a programme regarding the road development in Chhattisgarh with the objective of achieving all weather access to every unconnected habitation with a population of atleast 500 in the case of normal block and 250 in case of tribal blocks.It is a scheme started with an aim to createdurable work with the help of state fund.

4. It is being implemented through the Panchayat
& Rural Development Department as Nodal
Department and Chhattisgarh Rural Road
Development Agency is as the Nodal Agency.

5. The Consultancy service is an additional advantage
which provides the area of Project Implementation
in the road development in Chhattisgarh to assist
the Chhattisgarh Rural Road Development Agency
in executing the programme with the requisite
speed and quality.

6. The services provided will include assistance in
the selection of work survey, investigation &
preparation of works Procurement, Construction
Supervision Quality control and Project
Performance Monitoring.

7. The objective of road development in
Chhattisgarh is to develop roads, ensuring the
induction of best practices.

8. Its services include road development, bridge
development, flyovers development and its
maintenance.

9. For the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Gram
Sadak Yojna in Chhattisgarh, an agency
called Chhattisgarh Rural Road Development
Agency has been created.

10. To coordinate the works executed by the
contractors and supervised by the consultants
fifty Project Implementation Units (PIUs) for
eighteen districts have been constituted. The
PIUs are headed by Executive Engineers.

11. There is an Empowered Committee having the
main objective of road development in
Chhattisgarh under the chairmanship of the
Chief Secretary.

12. Its responsibility is to monitor the progress of
project in the road development in
Chhattisgarh. It also has the authority for the
financial and administrative decisions.

13. Chhattisgarh has wide coverage of roads with its
connections with the neighbouring countries.

14. The district headquarters, tehsils and
development blocks are well connected with
good roads.
