Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation,in order to boost investment in ESDM sector in the state processes to develop an Electronics Manufacturing Clusters has got approval for developing this cluster from Deity.Those companies,joint ventures,consortiums having experience in the electronics manufacturing system to become a part of the special purpose vehicle for the purpose of development,operation and management of the whole unit and setting up the unit in EMC.It is the most important step towards the industrial development in Chhattisgarh.

development of Chhattisgarh in several fields
such as in industrial and in agricultural field.
4. Chhattisgarh is the 5th largest mineral producer in
India. It is a foremost producer of minerals like
coal, dolomite and iron ore, accounting for about
21%, 16 % and 11 % of Indiaโs production.
5. Progressive Chhattisgarh State is ranked as the
seventeenth tea production state in India. The districts
Surguja and are favourable tea production regions.
6. Agriculture is counted as the chief economic occupation
of the state. The majority of the farmers are still
practicing the conventional methods of resulting in low
growth rates, cultivation, and productivity.
7. The state was formed on 1 November 2000 by
partitioning 16 Chhattisgarhi-speaking south eastern
districts of Madhya Pradesh. Raipur was made its
capital city.
8. Chhattisgarh borders the states of Madhya Pradesh in the
northwest, Maharashtra in the southwest Telangana and
Andhra Pradesh in the south, Odisha in the east,
Jharkhand in the northeast and Uttar Pradesh in the north.
Currently the state comprises of 27 districts.

developing states in its industrial sector
like Power Sector, Steel Sector and
Aluminium Sector.
10. This is one of the few states where
sufficient power is there and it
supplies to other neighbouring states
also due to its surplus power.
11. The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board (CSEB) is in a
very strong position to fulfil the electricity requirement
of the state and is in a good monetary health.
12. The Progressive Chhattisgarh has the entire railway
network spread over the state which comes under the
geographical jurisdiction of the South East Central
Railway Zone of Indian Railways centred around
Bilaspur, which is the zonal headquarters of this zone.
13. In 1878, the construction of Nagpur-Chhattisgarh
railway line began and was completed in 1882.
Raipur, Durg and Bilaspur Junction are the main
railway junctions in the state. These junctions are
the starting point of long distance trains and these
connect to the major cities of India via routes.
14. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been
engaged to conduct a pre-feasibility study of the
Metro Rail project in the State. A New Metro line is
proposed between Durg-Bhilai-Raipur-Naya Raipur.
First phase work will start with Bhilai-Raipur
connectivity.
